You've never been to the Pilot on 20 in Dallas. I parked parallel to the CAT Scale, because there were no spaces in there or at any other truckstop in the area. The **** manager woke me up and told me to move or I'd be towed. She was a real grouch, too.

Well I like others think that Flying hooks are far from the best but I do have to give credit where due.

A couple of years ago I was having one of those bad, frustrating days, you know, just can't seem to make any time. Bad weather, unloading delays, etc.

Pulling into the J in Black River Falls Wisc. jumped out of the truck and shut the door,,, just in time to realize I had locked my key in the ignition.

Now I always carry a spare in my pants pocket, but I had just changed pants at my last stop(I was soaking wet) and left my change and spare key in my change cup, S*it.

So I walk into the shop there to call a locksmith, real nice shop manager asks what he can do to help, I told him I locked my keys in the truck. He opens up this cabinet and asked me what kind of truck, I tell him a Pete.

He has about 6 "rings" of keys in this cabinet, keys that have been left, lost or found over the years. Hands me the "Pete" ring and says see if any will fit.

Sure as s*it about halfway thru the ring the door unlocks, I grab all my stuff and head back to the shop. Hand him back the keys and ask what I owe him, he says no problem, glad I could help.

Go in and get a shower, nice clean showers with ample soap and shampoo. After I warm up I sit down in the dinner starting to feel a bit better about the day.

What the hell, it's been a tough day, I order a steak, one of the BEST steaks and meals that I have ever had at a T/S. Waitress was VERY nice, I haven't been back in years, but I will be sure to stop back in and give them my business whenever I get up there again, hope nothing has changed.

This one isn't one of the major chains, but I really think it has to be the best T/S. Big Cabin Travel Plaza, off of I-40 exit 238, Big Cabin, OK. Fueled and stayed there Wednesday night. What a shock to find out it's full service fueling. Not only do they pump the fuel, but wash your windows and mirrors.

Now if that wasn't enough, the showers were very, very clean, and not a small closet. I haven't experienced many T/S showers, but the few I have are not even close. Monday I did stay in one T/S and the shower was just that, a small closet.

Next the restaurant. It had a buffet, and I will say that I was not impressed with it. However if you order a meal, I don't think you'll be disappointed, I wasn't. I had a chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, white gravy, green beans, and salad. The other two drivers I was running with, ordered a steak that was the special of the day. They say it could of been a little better, but was far from bad.

Last night I stayed at the Plaza Go, K-96 off of US-50 hwy, South Hutchinson. Can't say much about it. We had a Rib-Eye dinner, and it was, well, darn good. The rest of the truck stop could use some work, especially the entrance. Even though it is paved, it has enough craters to jar loose any fillings you have in your teeth. I'd say it sure would put a stop to any hot-rod rookies wanting to run the gears.

I stumbled into the Jubitz Truck Stop in Portland Or a few months and that one right there get's my vote for the best truck stop I've ever been too. Very nice restaurant, movie theater, sandwich shop, pretty much has it all including a motel which I didn't stay in but it looked nice from the outside.

i resent all TA'S every time i really need a shower my credits have run out. Yesterday in breezewood i stood beside the kiosk till someone came by with extra shower credits felt like the hitchiker on the on ramp with his sign. Having a new truck my single most important feature is def at the pump

'Pilot and Flying "J" have the cleanest showers' you got to be kidding, RIGHT?
Go read thier fb page, and you will see all kinds of comments from all over the country, about thier lack of clean showers. Even with last summers rate our shower promo, that didn't help.

The full service fueling at Big Cabin took me by surprise. I had only experienced that at the Rip Griffins years ago in Rawlins, WY.

Precisely why when I run 20, I either go through to Terrell or stop in Weatherford at the Petrol. Neither one is ever filled up. To hello with fighting over a spot at any of the Dallas truckstops.
