depends on what pass you/they bought. some cover a lot of states, cheaper ones , cover less. Solutions - Bestpass click the link and go to Transponders, to see coverage areas.
Mine works in KS and OK. I have the blue box with lights for scale bypass and the little white one, but no RFID tag...I have run TX with it too and the company hasn't gotten any crap from blowing thru tollbooths without it connecting...they would have told me.
My Bestpass has not been read by the electronic readers eachbtime I went through KS. I have the "chip in a sticker" Bestpass. The tollbooth operator was able to use the Bestpass once I handed it to her.
When I did in KS she stood there for a while and waved my blue box at something that was apparently mounted on the ceiling and to no avail. She eventually said Im sorry sir its not working, you will have to pay. Later when my partner drove, he told me "this is how you deal with that" then drove through all the pikepass lanes. He's a lot younger me and more carefree than I am. I have experience dealing with toll roads and know how they can make your life hell if you defy their decrees. And even if its their mistakes they still punish you anyway. I never use tolls in my POV anymore ever. Because they don't know their own stuff and I will sit on hold of answers and then get disconnected regardless of how nice I am. They are 12 dollar an hour phone operators doing their homework. Not people that care. Why should they. They deal with jerks on the phone all day. Im telling you its not fun. And I had two vehicles that they had 4 address for and I only lived at 2 of those addresses. I don't know how they get their information but they think they know stuff and they don't. Then they send it to collections and they all of the sudden magically find out where you live after they attached a 500% mark up interest payment to you and I received NO bills in the mail. I don't think there is any sort of scam happening, but I think most of them are stupid. I don't want to repeat that.
We run PrePass and it has worked on all the toll roads ive been on... Including the Kansas Turnpike. I always go through a lane with a attendant just incase it doesnt work, but the light has always lit up "K Tag OK"
I have Bestpass and the mega I drive for also gave me a K-tag which I believe is for KS and maybe OK as well. I find the electronic tolling to be confusing.
Same here man. Still trying to get all that stuff figured out. I will call them when I am back to the yard and see what they say and what I can learn. Just don't want to get in trouble again with those people.
