Hello there. I'm new here so I'm going to ask a question that may sound silly but here it goes.... Is there talk about big companies for example Roehl or Stevens.. or Swift...adding straight with sleepers to their fleet? I'm seeing alot more on the road and I'm thinking it is a matter of time. What do you folks think?
Big companies going straight.

I am confused as well.... straight what? Trucks? Drivers? Arrows?
-
Straight trucks I’m guessing? I’ve seen some smaller straight trucks with sleepers. They usually haul only 4-6 pallets.
-
The company may be straight, but watch out for you trainer...they might have been grandfathered in...YIKES!!!!
-
Oh yeah now that you mention it i have seen those. I think it is mostly expedited stuff. Fedex custom critical comes to mind. Never seen companies like roehl or swift running them though.
Ffx95 Thanks this. -
And from what I hear most of those small trucks are third party contractors. Not sure if it’s an actual third party or just fedex trying to not pay benefits.
-
Most of those are run by expediter teams. For stuff that needs to get there yesterday.
-
If there is a market for it....I think they will go for it. More freight....more money.
-
It's a tiny market.
We had a opportunity once to do it with a 28 foot box and a century sleeper kit and front end as a team.
Let's me say this if no one else does.
You cannot be late with this.
