I have a question. I am considering Big G...even though it will mean a big cpm drop, but what good does a high cpm do if you spend tons of time in the shop anyway.

Sorry, here is the question. Or I should say here are the questions...

Does Big G pay breakdown pay for issues like Tenn had with bambi (or for long term downtime issues on the road)? AND how does Big G calculate vacation pay? Current carrier pays $0 for breakdown (and there is a lot of it) and pays a flat $500 for vacation no matter how hard you run (when your truck is operational)...

    Thanks in advance
(or if you speak spanish, Gracias de antemano)

I have never broken down over the road...I think tenn was paid something but they relayed him to another truck..
vacation pay is figured on your annual income. 1 week after 1 year and 2 weeks after 2 years.
Your dm will take pretty good care of you..

    where do you live..

North FL, just south of the I-10/I-75 jct. I have no problem with being out 2 or 3 weeks at a time, have no issues with e-log like many drivers do(I actually prefer them) and other than a starting pay a bit lower than I would like, every thing else I read that has been posted lately seems to appeal to me.

    Well...
i am familiar with poly and know what they pay...
we have far better benefits here...
while you will start at .40cpm we have monthly mileage bonus up to .04 and annual and biannual bonuses as well.it all adds up.

very good equipment with tripacs and 1800 watt inverters..

i have found staying out 2 weeks at a time works best here. You get 3 days off after 2 weeks as well.

Where you live is an excellent location..

if i can help you more just ask...

if you need to i can pm my phone number

    good luck

Poly's insurance isn't too bad as long as you don't have a serious ailment. 1st insurance I have had where it's no deductible, all co-pay. But their equipment is 2nd rate junk, they don't pay for breakdown, and pay $500(gross) for vacation no matter how hard you ran (only company I have worked for that didn't base it on productivity).

I'm guessing the other bonuses are safety and fuel? Obtainable?

    All bonuses are very attainable...

fuel mileage is 7.1 and over but my T680 gets 7.8 average...they also credit you .25 mpg if you dont have over 3 service failures which i have never had...as long as you communicate ahead of time they dont give you one...
insurance is $600 deductible on hospitalization and copays on everything else...
i know what you were used to at poly and i believe you will find big g a nice transition..

after 5 years at gordon i thought i would never find another home until i retire but i am quite content here...

not getting rich but i am doing pretty good...

also the profit sharing after 1 year is very nice....

7 mpg...geez, my Poly truck gets 6 at best, but we don't have APU's on most of out trucks.

Don't know if I could stand working for a company I couldn't complain about :biggrin_2559: (that's a joke for anybody that has read my posts on other threads)
