A normal auto wouldn't last...PACCAR has their own automated tranny now...but it still has a clutch. Not sure where he got his mis-information, probably the same place that told him the Exec VP wasn't leaving...which was right before he left. What has changed is the clutch actuator, it is now externally accessible and a better design that works better.

Kenworth did approve the Allison TC-10 (I believe that’s the name) alongside the new Endurant 12 speed so I thought he may have had that one.

Yeah the Paccar trany is an automated clutch and gearbox but hopefully it’s light years ahead of Ultrashift. I drove an Ultrashift for 2 years and man I love being back in a 13 speed manual...

You may be right, but I don't see an OTR truck using a full automatic, but I could be wrong...knowing how screwed up the management is at Big G...

I wish my place would ditch automated, what I wouldn't give for a 13 with the 3rd pedal again...

    Winnyf1 Thanks this.

40 Years ago I was fortunate enough to be among this group of very special people.

Time really does go by so fast.

    No..
Post 5 was my first assignment and 65 my second.
    That was Athens and Circleville..
I wish I had never left Athens, it was a great post.
Circleville was a voluntary transfer to get closer to home but had a douchebag for a post commander. Oddly enough he got demoted shortly after I left due to so many other guys quitting because of him.

I was curious as I retired after 36 years in the system in August 2016 from a department in Williams county. If you had worked post 20 good chance I knew you
I have enjoyed being out of it.
I know what you mean by management. The year I retired we had 4 of 19 officers leave and I was the only one that retired. The 19 includes Chief and Assistant Chief.
I am reaching the point where I may look for a job, partially because Police and Fire are no longer offering health insurance next year. Currently paying $1,100 monthly premiums. They will provide a stipend for awhile if you go with one of their recommended companies.
