Any law enforcement officer with even a half ounce of gray matter upstairs will tell you this is now a civil matter, a matter for the courts and lawyers. and they are not going to get involved.

Do you think ,for even a moment, that some cop is going to listen to this story, and say "Hey, great idea! You pull your gun, I'll pull mine, and we'll just show up unannounced! That'll show 'em!"

What rock did you just crawl out from under, to give advice like this? I want to make sure I avoid it like one would avoid herpes and other STD's.

...and he thinks I'm the nutty one......

Do what we did, document the work you did usually by a trip number and then the particulars in a very large lined hard cover journal.

Green marker checks off trips paid in your payroll each payday, Red markers show trips not paid. After a few of them, go to the driver manager, open the book and show him this, that and one other trip not paid tick off the dates run, amounts in pay miles and so on. Down to the total dollar amount using the dispatcher's paymiles from their own satellite macros.

What usually happens is a straight comcheck is cut for you to cash at any bank here in America. Without charge to your next payroll. Plus document which manager by name, date and time and amount paid to you. Then put a green X through the red check unpaid loads that are now paid. (After you get the cash and wire whatever you need to home to your checking account) Once the company understands you carefully follow up writing everything down long hand they will work harder to avoid future visits from you for this, that and one other load to be paid now.

It's a minor annoyance when you document loads hauled to the Nth degree over 6000 miles as a team one week and FFE pays us $0.00 claiming paperwork courier snafu. Since the souce of the documentations is from their own computers just as they dispatched the loads and you present copies of BOL's signed unloaded by reciever etc they have to pay you. And get their money back asap that will take a while sometimes. But they have to pay you.

If they refused to, then go home state's unemployement and explain to them with that same documentations they will now lean on your company to pay you. One way or another you will get paid.

It's awful that we have to document everything work. We should not have to. But it's the ultimately the only way to answer a DM when he looks at you askance and says did you run this load? Sure. Here is the copies of BOLs fuel tickets, logs, date, time delivered and so on. Everything boom. right here on your desk. Pay me.

Most drivers simply shuffle the feet like a child caught without home work and go uhhh... uhhh is not equal pay me.

    I have a question ( Raises hand ).

How long did you work at this place before you determined they were diabolical and evil?

I prefer the term sinister myself. But I am an American.

    I forgot to mention Paperwork.
Obviously I dont show up at an employer/warehouse with a Deputy and guns drawn.

The first thing any Sheriff wil ask for is proof of employment and proof of claim. Keep all BOLs as well as keep records of pay! The Sheriffs Department will not get involved in anything without 'proof'.

Guns drawn and 'shots fired', well that comes later esp if they fail to pay.

Hopefully this story doesn't end with a mass shooting at Bison's office.....
