Being snowed in is sometimes a blessing. Sounds like good times.

At that time I was driving for an union company. Got paid for every hour. LOL The dispatcher was having a fit. LOL

I was a freshman in high school in metro Boston. Our track meet got cancelled, then I watched out the kitchen window, as the flakes got bigger and the snow came down faster.

Dad called home from work to say "the driveway better be clear when I get home!" So me, my younger brother, and one of my sisters went out to shovel. By the time we got to the end of the driveway, we had to start at the top shoveling again.

Then the wind started. By the end of the storm, the wind-blown drifts were high enough to bury some of the street signs.

I have tons of stories about that storm, but I'll just leave it at this: I haven't played cards since then. I had my fill of card games.

That's probably the same storm that stranded me in Watertown SD.
Stopped there to have a short nap and give the eyes a rest.
When I woke up the roads were closed, spent 3 nights and got a bad case of pneumonia to boot from shovelling snow, helping to get the stuck trucks moving.

Had I gone another 75 or 80 miles north I would have been clear of the worst of it.
After that I would do my best to outrun every storm I came upon and it worked to my advantage, most of the time.
However, there's a couple storms I remember that I couldn't completely outrun, they seemed to be following me, like for nearly 1000 miles.

There were times we didnt stop for nothing. 1000-2000 miles all in straight through just to get out of a monster's way.
