I was booking a load from VA to Wa,
broker wanted to pay 2$ which came out to $5700.
I had a team in that truck an told him the load will be there in two days.
Then he responded your making 5700$ in only two days, and proceeded to tell me how much $$$$ that is in two days of work. I simply laughed and told him its alot more to it than that. Some brokers need education on how much of the gross goes on expenses, and how expensive it is to run a trucking company. The entire gross does not go into our back pocket...

Just show him the $600-800 dollar receipt for ONE fuel up, which of course is just the tip of the iceberg. .

Brokers=dispatchers. They have a load they need covered, and they will sugarcoat the s*** to get it covered. The only real difference is that Brokers push the load a lot harder due to the fact they technically own all the responsibility when it comes down to it. I think they should all have to go through some form of training before they can foist loads on drivers, or sell loads to companies. Personal opinion.

knowledgable brokers are a breath of fresh air, theres plenty of them out there but some of the conversations Ive had with some make me wonder how theyre able to even put on their shoes in the morning. Be on your A game, a mistake on your part will cost you a lot of money , he makes his money regardless.

I misread the post. Thought he refused the load at $2 a mile.

Your NOT gonna get much more than $2 per mile on a Van Load from VA to WA..Thats if its even a Van Load.....while I agree thats Cheap,
Go Look at what the Brokers are Paying from the Eastern Coast lines heading west.... $1.40- $1.60 per mile from a Borker
Broker Bob in Texas,(...... Probably 1 of the biggest ###-hole Brokers around) Pays Trucks .90 to $1.10 a mile from Texas to Mihigan,Ohio,Indiana Wisconsin...And Morons are taking it!
Broker Bob Worked For Stevens I think..Or 1 of those larger Van Carrier Brokerages.....Toomanybikes Thanks this. -

I didn't take the load because we didn't agree on the rate, but it was just funny how he made it sound like its all profit.
