Don't have to worry about temp shenanigans with other trailer types.

The broker is the one who hired you. You're not getting paid by the shipper. If the broker says to do something for the load you do it and it's on them because technically they are the customer.

If they offered to bring it back you can get same rate you hauled it out for, they’re not going to pay more.

Loads going to California pay poverty level rates, going out of business rates.

You can make a tiny profit coming out of California, just enough to keep the Repo man away.

So I can understand not wanting to leave California at the same rate as you'd be running round trip for a loss most likely.

Fair enough, while the broker may be the one who hired you, it's not the traditional employee, employer arrangement. If anything, I'd say it's more like a partnership. I promise you, if they went to court, the broker is gonna throw the driver under the bus every time. If his supervisor comes questioning him, I guarantee you his story is gonna change. The bills said 0°. That's where the temp should have been. Most of the time even the broker is gonna say go by what the bills say. I don't know what fly by night brokerage OP is dealing with

Right. His bills said 0 degree temp. You think the broker is gonna tell his superior that he told OP 34? I think not. That's what I meant by change his story.

The rate confirmation says 34 and the follow up text/email asking for clarification says 34. The broker can’t claim he didn’t say 34.

Magoo1968, nikmirbre, Siinman and 3 others Thank this.
