If you do a search in Florida it's all cheap.
    South Florida is even cheaper.

The thing about trucking is it’s a cheap business to be in. Almost anyone can. It’s a slow death for many, until they get out of business. It’s hard not to fault brokerages not to partake in the clueless.
Yes, there is risk in hiring a broke carrier. Anything can go wrong and they don’t have the capital to make problems go away and find solutions. But…. It must be so hard not to hire a clueless carrier for cheap… roll that dice!

    At least 3 days, probably.

Yesterday, I called on a dry van load from Perris CA to Phoenix AZ that was paying $1800, expecting it to be a multi-stop load, came to find out it was a live load at pickup, but trailer needed to be dropped at receiver for 2-3 days. Didn't even bother to counter quote. For $1800, that's $450 a day revenue, since it was late afternoon pickup Thursday and assume trailer will be sitting 3 days, so 4 days total, most likely.

Depends on the season and what kind of wagon you have. I've picked up good paying loads out of North Cuba before, just not randomly. I just get angry with all the senior citizens running their new campers 60 mph in the fast lane, so avoid FL usually.

Outbound Florida has always been about a dollar per mile as a whole. Sure, you might find something about average every now and then but as a whole you're not going to do much better than 1/mile for a flatbed.

Why would a broker post a "good" rate? Isn't their job the same as yours; to make as much as possible? I don't think I've ever seen a broker posting pics of ratecons, claiming carriers are charging too much, have you?
