You don't get your points. Drivers don't have top secret clearance level. I've ordered quite a few reports through various links over the years. But I'm due for another so I'll use your link after work.

I have yet to receive a report that contained my points.

Snowwy, those points are in a different report, right? CSA, which drivers don't have access to, of course?

What was the "gap" you are referring to that solicited a 2nd ticket because you could not produce a paper log for the gap???

I know that in the event the ELD goes down and stops functioning, the regs require the driver to keep a paperlog until the ELD starts functioning again.

Another reason would be if you switched into a truck that isn't equipped with an ELD for say a day or two, then logged back into an ELD.

    Is this what happened?

The only points you have are the violations you have received if any. You can reference the site that shows the points assessed to each violation on your report and then add them up if that's what your looking for. ??

Needless to say, the officer who popped you knows his stuff when it comes to ELD's, especially when it came to spotting the gap in your logs.

The only way I've been able to find my points is to look at the company inspections on the fmcsa websight. I don't know If that's possible now with the new rules.

You guys might know of other ways to find em. That I'm not aware of.

The drivers don't really have or carry points, the confusion comes in because the violations are time weighted times 3 the first years, times 2 the second year and times 1 the 3rd year.

For example the no seat belt violation is 7 points to the carrier but 3 times to the driver. In other words it is like 3 seat belt violations in one. That is why companies straight up fire drivers over that violation.

This is where a go pro is handy! Mine is always on , I got pulled over in Gastonia nc a few years back for speeding! At the time I was only doing 58 he said I was doing 70, then when I said I have it all on video and can show you what the spedo was reading , he turned really nasty. I can go now right? Nope not till I see your log book I said ok and handed over he found nothing so I said I can go now right? No not until I do an inspection I said ok I would like a supervisor please so while he was calling for a supervisor I was calling my lawyer! When the supervisor got there I had Walter (my lawyer) on speaker phone! And Walter commenced to reading them the law, the supervisor was extremely nice and professional and I have nothing bad to say about him, but the original officer had a Crappy attitude from the start and it only got worse, if I hadn't had the video it would have been his words against mine and what I have learned in 40 years on the road is their words win in court!! For the most part they are pretty good but sometimes you'll get the guy that just wants to make the day a.Crappy one

Some states do require it. Indiana is one of them. So you will see Indiana throw some BS in the comments of a federal inspection as a reason why you were stopped roadside. Those comments then go against CSA/PSP
