I don't believe this one. Considering the variety of Elogs used from company to company. My Elogs are through my Rand McNally GPS. Maybe sometime in the future they might come out with a way to do this. I could be wrong? If so this is the first I've heard anything about it. I'm sure an article in one of the trucking papers or landline would have already had a story about this if it was true.

@scottied67 you been sitting at that lunch counter again?!? :argue:

Snowy, the difference is the level 3 inspection. If you get a warning for speeding, but no DOT inspection was conducted, CSA/PSP doesn't get dinged. But since a level 3 inspection was done, company gets CSA points assessed, and driver gets PSP points under the CSA program assessed. And Scottie is right. Warnings, within the scope of CSA, written on DOT inspection forms are pointed the same as if you had gotten the ticket. MVR is where warnings do not matter. I think you are confusing two different things. If no DOT inspection had been conducted, you'd be right. No points are assessed under CSA unless a "level whatever" DOT inspection was conducted.

Yep. It's the cops fault. Definitely his fault.

Well I was going to offer good advice and say things that would have been helpful and inspiring. But you had to make the Billy Jack reference. Tom Laughlin was a friend of mine. He ran for President with absolutely no chance of winning. He told me that one day he went down to the Savings and Loan where he had his life savings and it was locked up. He lost everything. So he ran for President. I liked that.

The movies were not the best but they were fun. He was good in South Pacific. Even though he was a flaming liberal, he was a stand up guy and a good friend.

You're right it's not the same. His MVR will be be unblemished by the speed warning. But his PSP will be reporting the warning as a full violation.

It doesn't really take much of a hill to get a 65 mph to do 70+.

Doesn't need to be a big one. On US23 here in MI there are two spots northbound that one has to jake and, depending on truck, brake. MM60 and MM77. If I don't brake I can easily get to 10 over.

But....but....I thought the big hard sell on these things was that the driver didn't have to do a paper log and it was sooooo easy and saved soooo much time.

What were the tickets for actually? Check the codes against the word of law maybe he wrote the wrong ticket. I would:

    1) Call the prosecutor and ask if they might consider dropping the more serious one for a guilty plea on the other and if they might remove the requirement for you to attend court.
    2) If the prosecutor says no to either above, then plead not guilty to both and plan to show up at court.
    3) A week before court, call the prosecutor back and repeat #1.
    4) If #3 fails, show up at court and repeat #1. They might change their mind or both might get dropped or the judge may take pity
