a buddy of mine, used a straw, in which he inserted into the sippy hole. made it easy and his eyes were not blocked by the cup when he raised his cup to drink.

since then, of about 20 years ago, i use a straw as well, even driving my car.

 

You got to be smarter than the cup!

A few years ago, a 'friend' bought me a large, uh, marital aid/male phallus/coffee mug from an adult boutique store as a gag.
It really comes in handy while driving since the sippy hole is never hard to find.

Get a bigger cup

 

It's most likely your sippy cup is "taking a knee". It's protesting your choice of coffee. If you start putting better coffee in the cup, the cup will behave.
