That’s how Dad&Grampa did it all their lives….nit really common anymore
You’d really need to have a tight in w/someone at the market where you trusted each….not much of that in this business climate I’m aftaid

Take a trip to McAllen and witness a market that is established. Got 25 million in the bank to compete with those guys? Folks had your idea many moons ago. Kinda like buying a truck and trailer and getting rich.
Your competition may be SpartanNash. 9.3 billion in revenue in 2021! Thousands of employees doing just what you mentioned. But hey, you may do it better… if you do a 1/100 th of that, I’ll pull for ya.

Before computers and cell phones a few guys would buy and sell, but the markets are established and trying to beat the system usually does not work. Heard of a driver that had a load of strawberries refused in NYC and he was stuck, however the same day a storm had ended the harvest and no more strawberries were enroute, when the result shorted the market all of a sudden his load of berries was golden.
Not saying it isn't possible, but I would not get in the food business as some states require licenses to operate and if something goes wrong the liabilities out weigh the possibilities.

    Rideandrepair Thanks this.
