You might have a chance if you teamed up with a highly experienced driver that could help avoid very costly mistakes.
There's more options getting loads and you can keep your truck moving. If one of the drivers on the team has years of experience the companies will give you a closer look.I know a few places that are desperate for teams.

Whats the goal? Be making money/80k in debt in a field you dont even know if youll like for 10+ years?
Im not saying its not possible for you to do it and make it, im saying youre putting your money into something you dont know ANYTHING about, and thats not wise
Think of your current field of expertise, think of a 40 year old truck driver saying they had 100k cash and wanted to get started by starting a business in that field with 0 experience. think how weird of an idea that is and also how likely to failbryan21384, haycarter and Brettj3876 Thank this. -
When buying a truck it doesn't matter how good your credit is you will get a high interest rate. New owner operators have something like a 90% failure rate. its a high risk loan, that's why you can't find financing with out a cdl and experience.
Insurance will be EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE! And that is if anyone will insure you, after you get your cdl.
Most reputable brokers will not load you, because you just got your authority. If you plan on leasing on to someone having no experience, I have never heard of a company leasing on a driver with no experience.
Fuel prices are currently out of control, equipment is extremely overpriced, and the spot rates are in the toilet.
I am giving you this information in an attempt to prevent you from making a mistake, and being financially ruined. I understand you don't want to hear that you need to become a company driver first, but it is a realistic approach to succeeding in the trucking industry. I advise you not to take what I wrote lightly, and I expect you will receive more posts to your thread along the same lines. What ever you decide, I wish you the best of luck!Last edited: May 7, 2022
bryan21384, gentleroger, austinmike and 4 others Thank this. -
What do you anticipate your operating cost per mile will be?
Have you called an insurance company for a quote?
Have you considered renting a box truck and doing Amazon loads?
Do you have any experience running a business? -
But ya, i completely get why nobody would want to finance me something, fully understandable. Was just hoping someone here had a loophole or something to offeraustinmike Thanks this. -
Box truck loads are less profitable, yes less risk, but not something I'm willing to run with.
Yes, this would actually be my 2nd business, the last of which I ran for 10 years, just wanting to move on -
