I've seen a lot of people that have gone to C1 schools in Texas,Indiana and St. Louis (closed now). Is their anyone that attended C1 training in Springfield,MO that could share their experience, how well the trainers were and give me a little insight as to what actually goes on behind the scene at this location. I was also told that you can test out early if you can pass the skills test. How many students usually attend and how much time do you get behind the wheel. I start C1 Dec 8, just in time for the holidays, gets me out of shopping. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks......

I was also curious as to how important the work history was if you couldn't prove income, I worked on family ranch for room and board and was paid cash for over a year, no record of income, didn't make enough on paper through the year to make a recordable income. I can prove most of the past 7 years, but is this good enough for them. Is word of mouth from family good enough....

    MO.mule,
I may start Dec.8th. at C1 at Strafford,MO also. I was going to start dec.1 but had death in the family. My wife isnt sure about this "trucking" thing. Ive been out of work for a couple of months now and really need to do this, and get some cash flow. Did you just pay up front for your tuiton, if you dont mind me asking? That part of our problem also is trying to pay for it. I know it will be better to pay ourselfs in the long run.
Hope to see ya there on Mon.

Well now they got me starting the Dec 22 school, not exactly sure whats going on, and from the sound of it I don't think they do either. 2IronHead do you have a job placement after school or know who your going to drive for, I'm supposed to be going to USA Truck, unless they decide to change that too.......

Went to this school from mid September to mid october. If you think they sound confused over the phone, wait until you get there. Your CDL test teacher is great and will get you your permits easy. I do not know how they are now but when you get on the yard you are basically on your own. Long story short version, written work great, yardwork or backing skills lost 3 instructors second week and spent more time watching than practicing as 1 instructor was training 17 trainees on very intense hands on training, road time was good and learned a lot. Problem is Missouri concentrates on backing skills as well as forward skills and unless they have changed you are on your own as far as backing skills. If I had to do it over I would attend a different training center. I had to start over in my home state as it did not recognize any of Missouri training

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention in my previous post. So you can make an informed choice, one clause in the contract that gets put in front of you and you are told to initial with 20 minutes left in the day, is that you give up your federally gauranteed rights of Truth in Lending so you know exactly what your payments are if you withdraw or get kicked out and they do refuse to put amount owed in writing. The same line gets you to give up your Fair Debt Collection rights. This protects you from verbal abuse on the phone, the ability to stop harassing phone calls at work,or home, and all of the references you gave can be called and harassed with no legal recourse or stoppage.

C1 in springfield is not the place to go they lie, their equipment is shoddy and not working properly plus they don't repair it. Their instructors are at best ok there are a few good ones but there is such a high turn over rate among staff that they are not teaching on a consistant basis. I have been left out on the yard to learn by myself because there are not enough instructors and students are having issues passing the CDL yard and road and even pretrip. They also vary in price depending on who sponsors you if driver solutions sponsors you its cost 6,000 dollars if state does its 3,000 dollars beware.......... I have also had stuff stolen from me from the hotel they have put me up at such as food and other personal items
