I'm at my shipper in Aromas (Watsonville). I read my dispatch wrong, I only have one p/u. It loads between 11pm and 1am tonight. I got here and immediately went into sleeper berth. This place is huge and has ample truck parking so I'll be able to get my 10 in here then leave early in the morning. I left Gary at the top of Donner. He loads tomorrow and ran out of steam as we got to the top of the hill. I guess starting your day at 3am will do that to you. I don't have time for sightseeing this trip back. I need to delivery Sunday morning at 10am.

Prepass is available. Mark has it set up so we can use the Calex. Numbers to set up our own accounts. No direct bill. Are you kidding where would Gail find the time? I am still at the yard but, hopefully, my weird brake problem safari is over!

Learned more in and outs. Great to know I can use 40 instead of 80 without out of rte penalties etc

Hey all, I'm sitting at the Petro up the street from the terminal. I got empty around 12:30 today in Pottsville after getting to the consignee at 9AM for a 10AM appointment.

The trip was pretty routine except that I had to put the trailer into the Carrier shop in Davenport Iowa because of a temperature issue. I woke up at 9AM Pittston time Wednesday morning after finishing my sleeper time at the shipper. I was loaded right at my appointment time of 11PM Tuesday night. The only issue was that the load called for 26 pallets of berries and they only had 24. They said that they would load me with what they had, have me sign the bills and they would call the salesman for the load to see if they could substitute the missing pallets with some other kind. They told me to sleep in the staging area and they would call me. Well they didn't call me so at 9AM when I woke up I called Louie and told him what was going on. He told me to leave and start heading east.

As I was climbing Donner, my phone rings and it's the shipper telling me to back into door #2. I laughed and told him I was 250 miles away. He told me that the salesperson called and they were going to put 2 pallets of other product on my trailer. I told him that I waited all night for him to take care of this problem and now if he wants to put the product on my trailer to put it in his car and meet me in Sparks at my fuel stop. Needless to say, it never happened.

I made it to Wells Nevada Wednesday night after putting 705 miles on for the day. It was over a hundred degrees all day Wednesday and every time I stopped I checked the temp and saw it was struggling to get to 35 degrees, let alone the 33 degrees it was set for. Thursday I woke up and saw it was reading 34 degrees. Not bad, except it should have been on 33. So off I go. I get to SLC and stop to check the temp and it's 35 degrees. I call into the shop and tell them what's going on. We decide it's because of the hot weather and decide to run with it. I made it to Sidney Nebraska Thursday night and go to sleep. I wake up, put reefer fuel in my empty tank and see the temp is reading 38 degrees. This is not looking good. I call the shop and they say to watch it during the day and if we have to we'll put it in the shop in Des Moines. I stop just west of Des Moines and see it's reading 35 degrees. I decide to keep going and get to Walcott for my break. Before logging out I check the temp and see it's 38 degrees. I called into the shop and tell them I'm concerned with the way the temp is and that I'm going to put it in the shop in Davenport. I get the ok, they call ahead and I drive the 8 miles to the Carrier dealer.

They put me right in and very quickly discovered the problem, the condenser was fully packed with debris which was cutting the circulation off. In 2 hours I was done, the temp was reading 33 degrees and I was parked and in bed at the Flying J. I woke up early Saturday with 835 miles to go for my 10am Sunday delivery. I stopped in Gary In for fuel, then made it to Brookeville Pa for the night. I had 225 miles to go this morning. I awoke at 4:45am went in and showered and was rolling with a cup of coffee at 5:45am, my best time of the day to drive. I got to the consignee and got my Strawberries off with no issues.

I won't be loading to the house tomorrow, I am short on hours to get to Orlando so I'm taking a reset and will be ready to go midnight tomorrow. Thats it for now, be safe and God Bless.

Hey Johnboy, just wondering what trailer number you had for your trip ? I had a trip west that was about the same. Very hot weather trailer was not reading what it was set at , yet when I made delivery reciver told me it was auctally 4 deg. colder than set at. for the whole trip . Just made it home myself. Take care

I had #3079. Carrier said it was a good running unit. I have my doubts though.

I have a problem with the tractor and the shop folks are not helping. On the underside, in the center of the truck, above the drive line is a rectangle with 4 different colored air lines going into the top and 4 electronic plugs across the face. Petro says they are solenoids that operate the fan, transmission, front interlock, etc. Shop Sam thinks it is the ABS. The silver air line has oil passing thru and dripping out below the electrical plug. The line is the 3rd from the left. Anyone know which color controls what?
The problem is intermittent and I have noticed no change in performance between when it is dripping or dry. Sam said it would cost thousands to cost volvo and he would not pay for such a small leak. Again no performance diff so I am inclined to agree. Anyone know what that silver line controls?
