    On the Prepass front...
    Start here https://secure.prepass.com/AccountManagement/UserRegistration.aspx

In a few days the company will call asking you to fax your registration card and provide shipping address. I had mine sent to Safety as I go home every 7 weeks. The first month is free. The base rate is $16.80 a month. I will post billing plan info when I get it.

Just found out Calex now does not pay detention on produce loads. After being held for 18 hours over 2 pallets, and watching 4 trucks from other companies get in and out in three hours; I am more convinced that ever that no detention pay polices cause detention. No concequence= no care.

I should find out details of the health insurance this time through and will post them for ya'll

    Hey Johnboy,

I have been reading your post on here for about 4 - 5 weeks and decided to apply to Calex. I have talked to Mort in Safety and Jack Griffin called me and we talked for a while. It looks like I will be joining your team soon. I dont know when, but talked to Mort again today and he says he is working on my application as hard as he can. I don't forsee anything that will stop my application process, so I should be working with Calex in a week or two. I would like to thank you for starting this post and letting everyone know that Calex is a great company. It was what made me apply to them. I do not want to work for one of the giant companies that don't care about their drivers. Calex seems like a great place to work, and they do really care about their employees. Anyway, I would like for you to get any bonus that they offer their employees if I get hired. So, If you would contact me at monroefiredog1@att.net, I will give you the info that you need to get any bonus they may offer for refferal. Thanks again for starting this post. Looking forward to meeting you soon.

Good for you, it should take about 2 weeks from start to finish to get the checks, medical and road test completed. I appreciate the offer for a bonus, and yes they do offer one, but to be real honest it doesn't pay for me to put in for it, they have changed their policy mid stream about how they pay it and to be quite honest with you it has now become a PITA to collect it, to the point that it takes far too much time from me chasing after it. It has gone from $500, half at 3 months, then the balance at 6 months now it's half at 6 months then the balance at 1 year. Of the 10 drivers that have hired on here from this blog that I have personally helped, answered questions, sat down with all hours of the day and night, and have been very helpful with directions, company policy and even helping some with payroll issues, only 3 are still here, and I'm one of them. Right now I'm owed $1000 that I have been chasing after for 3 months. I have made some extra scratch with this blog, but Calex knows I'm in it to get a good, safe driver on board, the extra money is nice, but far to annoying chasing after it.

If you have any questions just ask, I'll help you and anyone with the questions. Read the first 25 pages of the blog and most of your questions will be answered. Very little has changed, some inside things have changed but for the most part it's all the same. One big thing that has changed in the last few weeks is that because of 2 drivers that allowed their dogs to use their trucks as a teething area and house broke them in the trucks, we now have a pet policy, "No Pets". I fully understand the companies reasoning and I'm a pet owner. It's a shame but what can you do? The minority makes it bad for the majority.

Well I'm home, and have been since last Thursday morning after getting empty in Orlando. The reason I'm home until Friday is because my medical card is up for renewal on the 22nd and when I went to take my physical I failed! I guess age has finally caught up with me, I need glasses. No more buying cheaters at Walgreens, I need the real thing. Also, I was found to have protein and blood in my urine so the place that gave me my physical told me I need to get cleared from my doctor before they can pass me. No problem, I immediately went and got my prescription glasses last Monday in Pa. They were sent out to me today so I'll have them tomorrow. I went to my regular doctor on Friday and had the same test done, except this time it wasn't tested with a stick where a majority of those tests come back as false positive, it was sent to a lab to be checked by a microscope. The results came back negative, I have a clearance from my doctor and now I'll take my DOT physical on Thursday here by the house where I had it done 2 years ago.

When I took my eye exam last week the nurse asked me how could I see signs and lights, I told her I've been driving professionally for 30 years and I know what the shape and color of the signs mean, then she asked me about a traffic light and how can I tell what color it is, I told her that when the top light is lit it means stop, the middle light means to slow down and the bottom light when lit means go. She wasn't very impressed with my logic. Anyway, I'll be headed out on Friday.

It's vacation time again for my wife and myself. We are leaving September 29th and going on a 10 day cruise to the Eastern Caribbean. Maybe I'll get lucky and get a job in Domica as a tour bus driver that caters to tourists.

I hate when I have too much time on my hands, I am a licensed realtor and have been for 11 years, my license is up for renewal so I spent all day yesterday taking my 14 hour continuing education course in order to renew my license. I am able to help my wife while I'm gone with real estate work but am only allowed by law to do it with my license in force. I've been watching my wife for the last 14 years sell real estate and seeing her become more successful year after year, even when the housing market tanked she was selling 10 million dollars worth of real estate. She keeps telling me to get off the road and do this full time with her. I keep telling her I am planning on it. She keeps asking me when.

Hey John, thanks for all the detailed info, it's a #### shame how a few bad apples can ruin it for everyone, you know what I'm talking about. How can someone let their pets ruin anothers high dollar piece of property? Anyhow, I'm confident things will progress in a forward direction, and hopefully for you you get the respect you deserve for the things you've done over the last 2 years, you don't know me from Adam but there are words of advice from your written text that I'll take with me over the course of my driving career. Keep her between the lines buddy............
