Yikes! What store is the DC for?

I delivered this morning and had 4 cases returned damaged. It was all good because I had called the broker from the shipping dock and got his ok on the problem. I let him know the iced down, wax boxes had already started to "pancake" (water gets into weak spots in the wax, destroys the cardboard rigidity, and the weight of the boxes on top crushes the bottom ones.) Not sure if the rejects were crushed bottom boxes or the pancaking caused shifting and the 4 fell. I hate OSD but I saw the brokers' point. 4 cases out of 6 pallets of 40ish cases each is a good payday for him.

I swept out the round sprouts and tipped the washout guy with an advance apology for the mess. The leafy bits I could not get off are going to be smelly by the time he gets to washing it out.

I wish it was Sysco, at least then I would understand. It's Ready Pac, aka Wegmans in Florence NJ. They say it's never good when big business sends jobs overseas, I wouldn't loose an ounce of sleep if that placed packed up and left, and put every last clock watcher out of work. I never understood why employees become slow and useless when they get paid by the hour. Oh well, now everyone knows my true feelings.

I'm home, got here at 8pm last night. My wife's uncle was rushed to the hospital yesterday and being the only relative here she has undertaken the endless responsibilities of making sure he's being taken care of. Which means I now have 2 overweight Min Pins to go along with my 2 overweight Labs.

My trip south from Pittston didn't start out very well. My air governor went out on 81. I was able to bang it around enough to get air built up and limped into the TA in Harrisburg and get it fixed. I left there at 3:30 and got to my Wilmington drop right when they opened up at midnight. One more load of lettuce tomorrow for another Monday delivery. Next weekend I'm off for Easter.

The funny thing about that is the photo. While it's indicative of the actual trucks that are being offered for lease (the low unit numbers) the photo itself is at least 2-3 years old as those are the old logos on the doors. I don't know if they go over these things and clean and fix them up for lease, but I'll be willing to bet they don't look as nice as the ones in the photo. The one I was issued as a company driver had questionable tires, a rusty, non-greased fifth wheel, bent fairings and missing trim panels, duct tape residue on the dash, a steering wheel that looked like at least one of the previous drivers had been chewing on it, and a myriad of other small issues.

I know I wouldn't want to lease and make a monthly payment for the truck I was assigned to. And the loaner truck I had to use the day my mirror got taken out by a Schneider driver was even worse.

this isnt new they have been doing this for a while at least 3 years that i know of ... not sure where you got this add from but that truck there hasnt been in the fleet for over 2 years.... also i know 3 guys who are leasing the truck they are in and are happy with them and make good money.... difference between here and other lease programs is calex actually wants you to make money and own the truck....
