Are you sure about that? Margaret Sanger the founder of planned parenthood was a strong supporter of eugenics. Now look at where most planned parenthood clinics are located (inner cities) and that nearly as many African American babies have been aborted since it became legal as there are African Americans alive in the US today. As far as people like her are concerned, eugenics is great as long as you don't belong to the undesirable class that they want to keep from having babies.

    From your link.

Because of the additional global warming emissions released while producing, assembling, and installing an EV battery, the EV is responsible for more pollution than a conventional vehicle when it reaches the dealership, as long as the electricity source for production is the same for both, say a coal- or natural gas-fired power plant.

The link doesn't touch on the problems with used battery disposal and recycling, which have enormous environmental negative impacts. That's on top of the environmental damage created in making the batteries, primarily from nickel mining.

Cannot?? How do we know without trying. Cant means WONT!
At one time people said we "cant" go to the moon.
I no of two Arpin agents in the north east. Both are using solar to produce ALL thier electricity AND the electric company pays THEM for thier excess.
However I did say as possible.

And yet Germany's carbon emissions continue to increase....Hmmmm......
Why Aren't Renewables Decreasing Germany's Carbon Emissions?
And don't forget that solar plant in CA near Las Vegas that's torching birds....
This Mojave Desert solar plant kills 6,000 birds a year. Here's why that won't change any time soon
And speaking of birds, lets not forget about wind turbines....
Will Wind Turbines Ever Be Safe For Birds?
And lets say we could store all that "renewable" enegry in Li batts instead of caustic lead acid batts or even glass mat batts.....
The spiralling environmental cost of our lithium battery addiction | WIRED UK
And lets not forget the 200 million tons of Co2 emitted by volcanic activity every year....

    Just sayin'.......

It can’t be done organically. It will have to be done by bureaucratically forcing the internal combustion engine out of existence. “For the good of mankind”, right? The technology just does not exist to make it feasible by the time they project. And what if I don’t want to give up my engine that’s tried and true? What if I like the freedom of choice? The internal combustion engine has been one of the greatest inventions of mankind. It has built empires throughout the world. Electricity is made by fossil fuels, and not the other way around.

I don't think 20 years is doable. 50, maybe. The entire infrastructure would need to be changed.

And the problem with your response is that you lack a basic knowledge of history that is easily verifiable with a simple search.

Regarding black abortions, I typed my original statement incorrectly. I meant to say nearly half as many African Americans. But the number is still astounding. Unless of course you happen to believe that aborting 16 million out of a population of 36 million is acceptable, which you obviously do.

Regarding Margaret Sanger, I'll tell you what, I'll let old Margaret's words speak for me.You of course will call it fake news, or a mis-quote, but I urge you to buy a copy of her book. It's all there in black and white.

Margaret Sanger Quotes, History, and Biography - Research, Statistics, and Abortion History

“Like the advocates of Birth Control, the eugenists, for instance, are seeking to assist the race toward the elimination of the unfit. Both are seeking a single end but they lay emphasis upon different methods.” She stressed the need to merge eugenics with birth control, adding, “Eugenics without Birth Control seems to us a house builded upon the sands. It is at the mercy of the rising stream of the unfit.”

And Sanger advocated birth control backed up by forced sterilization or segregation to achieve her aims, writing, “While I personally believe in the sterilization of the feeble-minded, the insane and syphilitic, I have not been able to discover that these measures are more than superficial deterrents when applied to the constantly growing stream of the unfit. They are excellent means of meeting a certain phase of the situation, but I believe in regard to these, as in regard to other eugenic means, that they do not go to the bottom of the matter.” The bottom of the matter was “to create a race of thoroughbreds.” So the government, Sanger concluded, needed “to apply a stern and rigid policy of sterilization and segregation to that grade of population whose progeny is already tainted, or whose inheritance is such that objectionable traits may be transmitted to offspring” and “to give certain dysgenic groups in our population their choice of segregation or sterilization.”

In her 1920 book, Woman and the New Race, Sanger wrote that birth control “is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defectives.”

The conversation morphed several times, because we were being lectured on climate change, and how some feel that we should do away with oil and coal. I pointed out that the world would be much better off if we controlled population rather than wrecking the world economy, and that appears to have triggered some on the left.

    I'm done talking about it.

Just same as you stuff a straw into your favorite corn syrup soda and suck it til it goes empty, the same concept follows that if you stick a straw into the earth and suck oil, eventually there will no more oil. California recognizes this and is doing something about it.

If we sit around with our heads in the sand and believe our heavy hyrdocarbon reliance will be sustained indefinitely, we are in for a world of hurt. With 7 billion people and climbing, what if 50 years from now there is not enough fuel to go around to run all the planting and harvesting equipment to grow the food to feed humanity. You will see famine on unprecedented epic levels.
