regardless of what happened or who was in the wrong i feel for @LoneRanger . i have seen what it cost to do even a small amount body work on a truck and i hope insurance covers it. keep your head up and move on it can always be worse.

Practically, it is still very worth defending, so it is not affecting your record. Perhaps, it can be amended to a non-moving violation. I am not sure if it is possible because it has been a while for me since the last ticket. I would still call a local traffic court lawyer from over there and did some effort to dismiss it or change it to something less harmful.

did it putt your axle out of alignment or bend it ? steering still straight? i know it doesnt look like much. but that could easily be 15k of damage or more

    I watched it 20 times - till I understood -

Think about your driver side mirror angle on that curve. @LoneRanger had 3 options. Remember Cheeseman was behind him prior to collision.

    1. Stop and wait for LEO to block to allow him to pass.
    2. Stop and reverse to allow safe pass beyond accident in his lane (without doing the same thing to the accident scene)
    3. Quick move to the ditch to avoid Cheeseman.

I thought his following distance was good, but that drivers side mirror angle IN THAT CURVE, leaves you blind.

Either way - I think we have him sorted out for shop recommendations or a tow to CA - we'll see how it goes.

Oxbow, Hammer166, LoneRanger and 3 others Thank this.
