I see what your saying but in the end those long nosed lawyers will still look far beyond that and say they were the ones who hired this unsafe monster who is a danger to society thus his actions are there responsibility to.

    You're right...
I've assumed too much about you and I have no right to do so in the first place ... However
You will learn sooner or later there's a method behind their madness

Believe it or not, they would rather have uniformed drivers to take advantage of, than having a veteran driver that knows better

One way they conform the driver's thinking is to put heat on the driver, this causes the driver fear for his job security and therefore will jump through more hoops and not stand up for him / herself in either dangerous situations or being not paid for services rendered and such

This camera thing will be used to degrade driver wages and create the kind of drivers they want by having a control issue over the drivers

Unfortunately we live in a day in age where no one can be taken at their own word on anything.
... Take care of that license and get some experience and you can work for any trucking company you want to work for, I could tell my boss to go screw himself and have another job in three days if wanted to because I have a crystal clear MVR, CSA, work history,
This protects me from having to take chances with my license or being ripped off by the company
Not to mention my income level
Which is not as good as it was yesterday but still enough to get by on but we ARE ALL loosin ground on this everyday it seems and it makes my blood boil to know what they are up to but can't do anything to stop it on my own
Hang in there fish you're gonna get burned a few times on the way up this ladder and you will have to put on a thicker skin and have a smooth wd40 addittude
    ..... Merry Christmas

Been there, done that. Try working in the airline industry for 6-7 years with a low seniority number, little or no union representation and a job that's been contracted out to the lowest possible bidder.;)
And I've already paid my dues-figuratively AND literally-$11,600 and some change to be exact.
That's about the average going rate for a CDL certification nowadays where I live-and I'm determined to get my money's worth.

I respectfully submit that it wouldn't have saved Walmart any money and might have cost them more.

And one more thing needed to say is get debt free or nearly debt free and you won't be beholden to the master. To each to his own, but I don't understand why people buy $50k trucks/cars when they have to finance most of it. Run up credit cards, finance furniture/ mattresses ect.. I learned that lesson a while ago, and am happy that I don't have to worry about being stuck a slave.

The company I worked for was one of the first companies to install cameras. It was a local job I had worked at for 15 yrs. I stayed there for over a year with the cameras because I knew I was moving as soon as my son graduated the following year. BELIEVE me when I tell you everything these drivers are saying is exactly what happens. They tell you it's for your own protection, then slowly the cameras became more sensitive and soon they were watching almost your every move. The safety dept would call you in for the most minor things as you need to signal with in so many feet, or I would turn a corner and it would be too fast. It wasn't but they said so. Make sure your seat belt is over your shoulder completely.

Then they installed the lane beeper, this thing would beep if you came with in 1 ft of the painted line. You want to talk about something driving you mentally insane? I wanted to take my AR and destroy that thing. But then we learned if you loosened the screws to the mount and adjust it up or down you could mess up the calibration and it would shut up for most of your trip. I was leaving soon and had to deal with that sheet for nearly 4 months.

The guys there put up with it because it was a decent paying job that got you home every night, but big brother watching you didn't deter many, the parking lot had nice new diesel trucks and dodge challengers, everybody up to their eyeballs in debt. Not me cya a-holes.

It wouldn't matter. Walmart is still responsible. It was their truck and driver that caused the crash.

Sure they could say that but it won't hold up. The driver in question was already breaking New Jersey law by driving after being up for 24 hours and it mattered not. I think you underestimate the ability of lawyers to sniff out the deep pockets. It's not about justice. Besides, as already stated the camera would be used to prove that Walmart wasn't "properly supervising" the driver. In my opinion it would have made them look even more guilty.

Luckily I don't have that issue. I just drive the truck,do my runs and get paid. And both of my vehicles are paid for in full, title and all.(finance charges-WTF are those?LMAO).

I hope you're right. In the end if these cameras are used to get extra millions from companies, maybe they would rethink putting them in.

Don't worry, the brass still won't get it, even then.
