Can a bent wheel rim prevent the trailer tandem pins from going in when knob is pulled?

I know you're a troll so this reply isn't really for you but for the drivers who act like you do. You are the guy I send messages about when I pick up trailers with bad tires, bent rims, air leaks, burnt out lights, etc.

You had to know (or at least should have known) that the tire was flat when you couldn't slide the tandems. You could have let them know when you requested the mobile repair truck and they would have fixed it right then and there in another 20 minutes.

Your clock is no excuse to refuse to do the right thing and fix your equipment when you discover a problem. If you run out of hours, you can PC to the nearest safe and legal parking place. And as it turned out, you ended up having to do that anyway, but probably at a higher cost than if you had just done the right thing in the first place.

Don't blame the mechanic who told the guard. Blame yourself for being a lazy mid-wit. (Honestly, a 117 IQ isn't something to brag about in public.)

Also, he could have just contacted his maintenance people and said, "Hey, I am dropping this trailer at such and such location. Please send a mobile repair out to fix the wheel as I don't have the hours to wait on it." The end. I have done that many times and it worked out fine for everyone.

And you are right, he is an absolute troll and not really worthy of a response, but many people don't know that and take the time to try to help him and that is unfair to those people.

What is the point of bragging about one's IQ on an anonymous internet message board? Anyone can claim that they have any IQ here. Anyone could say "I have an IQ of 160."

I was not bragging when I said that I have an IQ of 117. It was just a statement of fact made to make the point that my IQ is the same now as it was before I created this thread.

They need to add a common sense factor to rating IQ . Some of the most intelligent people I know are dumb as a stump on real world stuff .

While there is truth in that, there's also a fairly strong link between IQ and curiosity. The cluelessness is likely due to exposure, or rather lack of exposure, more than anything. Too many bright people are pushed to focus on book-learning and discouraged from getting their hands dirty, and thus end up clueless about a lot of real stuff.

But drop someone with a high IQ in a truck, and their curiosity will generally lead to them learning how most of the major components work in pretty short order, without the need for specific instruction. They'll find it on their own, at least those with the higher spacial & general mechanical intelligence will.
There is a definite subset lacking in those areas, and they're often pretty clueless when it's time to apply the abstract to reality. They'll blow through the advanced math like it was 2+2=4, yet have zero grasp of what it means in reality.

So if you had 30 mins left on your 14, and wasn't able to get tire fixed at that time, how was you going to be able to get through the gate after getting tandems slid, drop trailer, do "your" pre-trip on trailer you was picking up and still make it out of that place and to the place that you parked for the night in that 30 mins?!

Magoo1968 and Kyle G. Thank this.
