I have been trying to think of the last time I heard about a trucker being attacked in their truck. Was a couple years ago at a casino. Iirc, The trucker had spent some time in the casino, then come out and gone to sleep in his truck. Later that evening, his truck was entered and he was beaten pretty severely. Not sure of the details. I am sure it happens more often than once every couple years, but it isn't common, and can almost be ruled out if you park smart and plan ahead.

Most likely, those carried in trucks fire arms were more used when one idiot wanted to show to another idiot that he can't be messed with rather than in a self defense or a life threatening situation. For instance, in a road rage or .... fuel island rage. Too many guys have too short a fuse...
By 'used', I mean either a threat with it or discharge.
Have you heard or thought about a situation or possibility in which someone plays with it and accidentally discharges it in a crowded truck stop? A stray bullet kills or wounds a person in a neighboring truck?
I haven't yet, but with this "better get yourself a firearm' sport becoming so popular lately, I was thinking about it more.

What good is it. By the time you load it your dead. 9mm with a full clip and one in the chamber.

Now your your talking, within easy reach. High intensity light and laser sight under the barrel. Will give you a split surprise on any intruder, bang bang, double tap. End of his story.

I was being factious. Ar-15 and a c-mag is the only way to fly.

Ever have a lizard knock on the cab? That's how they look for empty trucks to rob.

So I should leave a gun in my truck for them to steal while I’m in taking a shower?

Put it in your bag, no one will know it is in there. Besides the Glock is is not the most expensive item in my truck.
