Loop 375 surprises a lot of drivers in El Paso when they use it as a bypass.

Jellico at KY TN border. Ancestors are from there. When I was in training there were some steep ones in Arizona not sure if on the 10 or the 40. I 79 in WV is 9% for like 7 miles. Have ran Monteagle several time loaded and empty, heavy and light. Not too bad. Heard stories of one called Cabbage Patch, but never been on it. Dont think Ive seen Donner listed.

It surprised me at 0530 in the morning. I never knew that hill existed.

WB Vail isn't bad, but it's deceiving, you don't realize that it alternates from 6% to 8% (CDOT doesn't actually publish that part of it is 8%, but if you ask the right people they will tell you), EB Genesse is the same way, it's not bad, but it's deceiving. I've actually smoked my brakes more on Vail than Eisenhower. Loveland is fun.

But, for the real fun stuff, get off the big road. Rabbit Ears WB, La Veta EB, Wolf Creek WB, Monarch both directions (SWIFT has lost a couple off the side over the years), Douglass Pass both directions, Red Mountain isn't so much steep as it is tight.

I always tell drivers if they want to avoid down town, take the Anthony Gap which is NM404 that connects with Interstate 10 at exit 162 just south of the POE. Much gentler hill!

There are 2 books most trucks tops have.
A East and West mountain guide. Ones red and ones blue. Think there like $12.95 each tells the interstate/Highway. Mm the grade starts and ends. Some mega company's have them for sale cheaper in there store

N the one on 95 NB as well...#43? Right in west haven. I have gone down it more than a few times, tight down bottom is all. Being that you're apparently somewhat local, let me ask you this: get take 84 west and get off NY exit 1 take route 206 south into jers thru the park? That is a hill. Took like 7 miles to go up and less than 1 to go down. "Trucks use first gear" had it in 3 under with the jakes on full and still had to use the brakes to keep it from over revving :0
