DAC DAC DAC, you guys realize there are around 10,000 companies out there that don’t give a crap about a DAC report?

Would you rather be stuck on the side of the road for 4 days instead of in a hotel? Rent you a car and go home until the truck is done if you are close enough to home. This is trucking and trucks will break down on occasion, I don’t care where you work or how new or old the truck is.

Companies dont care about a lot of things. They are realistic and know how things happen. The problem is they have to insure the trucks, and the insurance companies care about a lot of things.

It's a free country, you can do anything you want.

If you want to continue on as a truck driver, the answer is no.

If that were your truck, would you say F it, and leave it there?

Don't tell them you want quit. Just suck it up until you are back at a terminal, going on hometime, so that you aren't under dispatch, that's almost just as bad, then drop the bomb on them. I quit. Bye.

I'd have a place to go, before I did that as well. As in another job lined up.

One where the truck will probably break down, and you'll be in a hotel for a few days. Oh wait.

At least you're in a motel. Lot's of those companies will just have you sleep in the truck.

Nope, I can think of 20 companies right off the top of my head that don’t use DAC and the have insurance. I have no idea what my DAC says or if I even have one and I’ve never had trouble finding work.

    Dude.
    Man.
I was stuck in Wilcox Arizona by that TA once for like 3 days. Long time ago. Had Dad with me.

It sucked. No really, it sucked.

Waited almost 3 days for that dude with the little Freightliner shop to get to it, he fixed it in about 20 minutes ( bad wI ring harness to the fuel injector rail ).

Abandoning a truck will definitely burn a bridge and probably result in your current employer not being very kind when describing you to your next potential employer.

Try to get the truck back to a terminal. Try to give notice.

If you can do both of those things, your future employment might be less difficult to arrange.

This is America. Home of the brave and all that. You are not being forced at the point of a firearm to stay with the truck. Hand, Im not going to blow smoke here. If you can't handle a little adversity (and trust me this is average) you should go ahead and leave the truck. There are drivers here that have millions of miles driven. Did you read what @Allow Me. Commented on? Most of us older drivers have went through this or in some cases worse. Go ahead quit. I hope you don't. However I'm hoping all you needed was to vent. Venting is good. However tomorrow is another day and somehow when you crank that sucker up and drive these kind of things lose importance. However I would not put up with slipseating. Too many carriers out there that treat drivers better then this.
