There is a bunk air conditioning system that works OK. It’s definitely not amazing, but it does cool down the air a bit. I’m sure for a lot of people it’s fine, but I like it cold. The bay runs on batteries and it doesn’t really make the air cold It’s more like less hot. I just know if I’m not sleeping because it’s hot. I will not be happy.. And unfortunately, for me, I don’t sleep very well if it’s hot
Can I remove the passenger seat from a company truck?

I’ve had less than vigorous bunk air conditioning before, one thing that helped was to run the regular truck a/c at full blast for the last hour of driving, really chill the truck down as much as possible.

Also, hanging a small usb powered fan from the center cubby up by the windshield, pointed twoards the upper bunk area helps tremendously. The cold air from the bunk ac struggles to circulate through the cab, so if you can force the warmer air from the top of the cab, it will cool faster.FullMetalJacket, austinmike and Chi Town Steers Thank this. -
Anybody try something like this, I never knew they made these. They have a similar one for “tent camping” I bet this would work.austinmike Thanks this. -
The next problem you'll have is exhausting the hot air - your window will need to be open 3-4 inches so you'll need to rig something to block up the excess space/keep the hose in place. Finally, what about drainage? Easiest solution is a gallon jug that you'll probably need to swtich/empty at least once per night.
In short, it ain't gonna work.tscottme, austinmike and Chi Town Steers Thank this. -
