The damage won’t likely get you fired, but the deceit might.
They’re not reviewing the incident. They’re reviewing how you handled it. They are going to make a decision based on your deceit. This is how these outfits look at things like this.
You knew you scraped the trailer. You know you’re supposed to report ANY incident. You chose not to because you didn’t think it was a big deal, “just a scratch”, to use your words.
That deception is what might get you fired.
Your big mistake in this is you didn’t inspect the damage closely enough. No one reports menial crap like a scratch. But peeling the top of the trailer is a different matter. You should’ve caught that and reported it.

Don't quit.
Use it as a learning opportunity.
Always know the height of what you are pulling, and always look at the clearance sign of what you are going to drive under, make sure it fits.
This applies to everything from the canopies over fuel pumps, to tunnels, bridges and more.
If you heard it scrape, logically you knew it did damage, so should have reported it immediately.
Stay there, take your lumps, and most of all learn from this.JadaLee, Val_Caldera and BennysPennys Thank this. -

And to reinforce what a couple of folks have hinted at. The repair cost for the damage and cost to renew you skill set will most likely be less than the cash outlay to hire a replacement and give them a hiring bonus and other incentives.Pamela1990 and JadaLee Thank this. -
On a typical day, J.B. Hunt drivers probably roll 3 trucks, rear end 10 cars, run over 10 trucks in a truck stop, back into 5 fire hydrants, jacknife 15 trucks (especially in winter) show up late for appointments 20 times, quit under a load 3 times, and on and on. Not to worry about minor damage to the trailer.

One step at a time. Let the review happen. If it's your destiny to get fired, just face the music. If you survive the review, learn from it, do better. Also, don't forget to check your atlas for those low bridges!
