I deduct my massage therapist expenses with my hotel room expenses. I use the code in my accounting software that says "ask my accountant". That's what he gets paid for. :)

I do too... No way I’m brewing my own cup of coffee in the morning without a kitchen inside the room.

It might work as long as you take a few of your trucker buddies with you and make it an official convention at a Cancun beach. To ensure the legitimacy of it, I would take a few video clips like you are sitting there and discuss rates and lanes and perhaps ##### about the tariff war for a few minutes.
You know...we are not any worse from those Fortune 500 executive fat cats who do it all the time.

If you a corporate hold your annual shareholders meeting on your vacation, you can write it all off.
Been doing it since 1999 where the wife and I are the officers of the s Corp, never been questioned by the IRS.

this is the whole point/reason to buy a sleeper truck, preferably with a condo, over a flat roof.

when you "just feel like" having more room, and a nearby shower/bathroom, and get away from the truck for a few hours, i'd consider that a "treat" for yourself, which YES, it is still tax deductible.

but if you're going to make motel stays a regular thing, then buy a day cab, save all that extra cash.

then too, you REALLY have to make sure that you can get a room for the night, and with truck parking.

i had a supervisor tell me once, and only once, as i put him in his place real quick...when he said to me:

"buddy, there are motels at EVERY exit"...

i said yeah George, there are, but NOT ALL OF THEM have truck parking".

he never brought up that subject ever again, and oh yeah, that company..?? we all had day cabs....running from MA to Va, to NC, SC, and Louisville.......and we did it......many times, in a company motel near the terminals, or a bunk house (in Louisville).

many times, I slept in my truck, as back then, it was "easy" to get away with not having a motel slip to prove we had a room..
