This video really helped me understand recaps. The paper logs really help visualize how it works.

Think of reset as restarting your 70hr clock anytime thru the week by taking 34hr break in order to regain a full 70 hr drive time.

While recap as restarting your 14hr clock by taking 10hr sleeper time to regain 11hr drive time after that sleepèr time.

    Does that make sense anyone?

    Running on recap sucks.
You recover hours at midnight so you usually are stuck running nights, then taking an extended break to recover less than 14 hours and the process repeats itself.
I prefer to just take a reset so I can run like I want.
    I myself like running nights,but I don't like 15 hour breaks.

I think Canadian rules are better..

13hrs driving 14hrs on duty... 70hr/7days and 36hr reset (or cycle change) or 120hrs/14 days 72hr reset (or cycle change) (24hrs must be taken after accumulating 70hrs on duty).

You need 10hrs off in 24hr period. Must have 8 consecutive off. So take 8hrs and make sure to take another 2 within your 24hr time period.

I’ve heard from a few people that while teaming if each driver doesn’t work over 10 hours a day they never run out of hours and drive everyday.
