Dude, if it is really just a mud flap send in a request to be reimbursed for purchasing one at the truck stop. Chances are the Mega will not care a lot about an inexpensive part, especially if you are taking care of it. Mud flaps can die in many ways. I would neither make up an elaborate story or tell them you jacked it up. A simple mud flap replacement request should do the trick.
Now, I’ll tell you the best of the worst mud flap stories. I was at a terminal and commented to another driver at the shop about his mud flap that had clearly been ripped off. He proceeded to tell me how someone had ripped it off hulk style in the night and threw it in a field.
Save the hulk story and just send the part reimbursement request. Problem solved. -
The tractor can come around and contact a low pole without it ever touching the trailer.
That mud flap bracket is a foot lower, after all.
And it could be low enough to not see it in the mirrors as you are backing.
I doubt anyone would be fired over such a small thing, unless there were too many other things that have happened in the past.Philglo2354 Thanks this. -

I actually meant the piece of metal on the outside of the mudflap that held the flowbelow plastic. Luckily the guy who had the truck before lost the plastic so that didnt break. I didnt buy a new mudflap mount because Im not sure if the truck had it before or it came with the flowbelow kit which is why I said part of the mudflap mount was damaged. I didnt see the part at the loves truck stops that I usually go to

Was a bus fleet mechanic for years. If I liked you, little problems didn't get reported, if you were an #######, the smallest of things got reported.
Sometimes it's best to stay hush sometimes it's best to rat yourself out.
Being that you're new I'm sure they're expecting you to break something. I'd say something about it, don't necessarily have to be the whole story, but at least let them know it's bent.
Would really suck for it to go in for maintenance and the mechanic see it and go "hey boss, what did the new guy hit?" and next thing you know, you're packing your bags.x1Heavy, truckguy391 and Philglo2354 Thank this. -
