If I realistically had like 6-8 months solo experience. But put on my application for a company that I have 1 year, how easily can they figure this out? I never did it, because I always assumed that with CDL jobs, they have a database that’s allot more intense than other jobs. Is this true? Or could I put my buddy whose company I drove for and have him say I worked longer than I really did?

just curious, again I never did this yet. But honestly I did it for non cdl jobs and never had a single reprocussion. ‍♂️

yes, yes you CAN LIE on any job application...!!!!

just don't expect to get the job, when they call the last employer.

Yes you will get caught. Your future employer has to verify your work history by calling the last employer you have and if they suspect something, they will ask for paystubs for the entire period you worked there.

If i’d found out someone lied to me, I would figure they’d steal from me.

    i'd do you one better

had anyone lied to me, i'd still hire them, then do the background check, then immediately fire them and DAC thier butt, to blackballing for lying on a federal document....

once that application is signed, it IS a legal document, that the applicant attested to be TRUE.

long before i got into trucking, i turned wrenches, and managed the shop, and very often would have to hire someone. you had better believe i CHECKED ALL references.

It's been said that a true test of a person's character is what he/she will do, when no one else is watching....

...with that said--if you do tell something untruthful on an app, and you are later caught--are you really prepared to pay the tab/suffer the total consequences (which could in fact...come back to "haunt" you...for quite a while afterwards)? :(

BIG HINT: Despite what the rest of the world would have you otherwise believe--WE VER-RY MUCH LIVE IN A "REAP WHAT YOU SOW" WORLD. o_O

The world is hurting....not just for more truck drivers....but for more drivers who are indeed true professionals.....who will do the right thing--even when doing the right thing isn't easy....or "cool"....and/or when no one else is looking.

A MUCH BETTER strategy: just apply for CDL jobs that don't require a full year of experience. Those jobs are still out there. You just have to be willing to find them.

Companies are required to "attempt" to contact the previous company.
@Ridgeline & @DRTDEVL can explain this better than me.
