My ex slip-seater is a cancer survivor. Sure, he missed a bunch of time dealing with it, but when he came back he was given a series of 3mo med cards. Then it stayed in remission so he got a year. His last card was worth 2. So it's possible to bounce back, but you gotta deal with all the crap in the middle first. I don't think it's revoked as long as you're monitored by a medical professional & don't work for a ####-bag company.... I say that because another guy on my ex-fleet took time off to deal with cancer. Got a notice shortly after his return saying that if it happened again they couldn't guarantee him a job.... And yes they could. They're always advertising, retention sucks, the company culture sucks AND there'd be a job for the guy if he wanted it. So why TF send a notice?

A stroke, on the other hand, a fellow essentially created a job opening for me at where I'm starting 5/1 because he's been medically disqualified for a year. Sucks that my position re-opened because of his ill health, but it's my job now.

I had to renew when I was undergoing chemo. They knocked be back to one year. After remission, I went back to 2 year card. Just fight the cancer and don't sweat the small stuff. Sending out prayers to you.

With more and more people surviving these days. It’s terrible news yes, but hopefully it was caught early enough. Got to get those age required tests done. I finally got the colonoscopy at 55 yrs old. No big deal at all. Took a nice nap. Surprisingly no polyps, as both of my siblings and Parents had. Very curable in early stage. Now good for 10 yrs they say. I Wish your friend the best, I’ve lost so many to Cancer, myself.
