The only sightings I've seen was May '13, Coachella. Blue pickups observing idling trucks and ticketing. 2nd. sighting, Feb.,'14. I 8 eastbound side at the old bug/produce shed at the Az./Ca. border, at least 25 trucks lined up with 4 in the sheds.
Was talking to a guy on the phone, he was at the F/J in Bakersfield and a blue pickup cruised the lot and gave a JCT truck a ticket for a non compliant reefer trailer. (May '14)
I talked to some Ca. guys that haul hay with non compliant trucks almost everyday, (no ag. exemption). They said F'it we'll run 'til we get caught.
Kinda' sucks for the trucks that went compliant. They/You, spent the money to comply and not realize the benefits.
I expect the enforcement to be stepped up considerably. BUT, CARB is not a "legal" entity, (they can't pull you over like a cop). But at the aforementioned I 8 check, CHP was there, thereby obedience was mandatory.Last edited: Jul 2, 2014

and what happen if you're not a resident in ca and dont pay it? not like it goes on your record right?

Was just curious because I did comply and are seeing old trucks still running around. I heard they arent so strict on out of state trucks. Yes it does go against you. I heard its going on your CSA like being put out of service

I think California is realizing they bit off way more than they can chew with the truck and trailer compliance regs which is why they keep pushing the enforcement back. I think the state is afraid of their own regulation and the potential consequences of enforcement.
-
apparently they aren't too afraid. they've been fining their own in state companies. big bucks too.
i'm guessing too little manpower for too many trucks rolling in their state. but if you got the guts to defy their law. by all means. roll on through.
just don't come crying on the forum. -
trucks get tickets all the time. from different states. a carb ticket would probably be handled no different. -
That was kinda the point of me starting this forum. I think they are enforcing it on California companies only. I think they are a little scared to start enforcing it on out of state companies because of what may happen. Like giving the OOIDA lawsuit any ammo

Curious how many will call? Hey, can I get away with not complying with your law?
CARB posts advisory and language for Truck and Bus timetables
By Charlie Morasch, Land Line contributing writer
Truck owners who need to know when their trucks must be upgraded to meet Californias rapidly changing Truck and Bus Regulation have new documents and a hotline to call and receive help.
The California Air Resources Board is using email, social media and virtually every outlet at its disposal to publicize enforcement dates for the Truck and Bus Regulation its most expensive truck rule. The air quality agency is urging truck owners to fill out a diesel hotline assistance form, or to call the hotline directly at 866-6DIESEL (866-634-3735).
