I have thought about that option a lot as well. My wife is a labor and delivery nurse of over 22 years and I have been out of work since September, 2012 due to an injury I received while unloading a truck at work, alone, full of cases of water. The bad thing was, I was the store manager. The company never had any help and I always want to get things done. I have always tried to lead by example. I had to fight workman's comp for a year to get si joint fusion surgery, which I had in January. I have been released for full employment, no restrictions now and back is stronger than ever. I have really been trying to find employment locally in several occupations, but I grew up in trucking since my uncle owned, and still does own a trucking company made up of dump trucks and dump trailers. I actually learned on a 13 speed, dual axle tandem, very old, GMC when I was 16. I loved driving, and I really want to provide the best for my family now. I had never been out of work, since I started when I worked tobacco fields when I was 12. We have a great daycare we can utilize when my wife is at work and I am gone. Plus, I am currently the President of the region's foster parent association and know that the state looks for financial stability just as strong as anything else. I really appreciate everyone's input amd advice, very much! Also, I forgot to mention, I am looking for a high percentage of no touch freight.

That's what we're all here for on a Sunday afternoon either drinking Margeritas on the deck (HIC!), or off duty somewhere around this great country!
Use this forum well - tons of info and great folks here.hal380 and streetglider Thank this. -

You want no-touch freight; in tankers the hardest work is maybe dragging a hose and hooking it up; then unhooking it and snaking it back into the storage tray on the side of the trailer.
Check with Tyson recruiter; probably no-touch.
Ozark Motor Lines is 100% no-touch, but you won't make the money as with Tyson or tankers.Ruchie Thanks this. -
Maybe your wife will end your trucking career for you if you leave her alone with a new baby.
Then it won't be a problem anymore.Skate-Board Thanks this. -
Well, considering if I don't get a job somewhere and also that I have applied everywhere around here and received no replies at all with anything else; we both know if I don't start something soon, we will lose everything. She works full time as a nurse and I have never been without a job, till the past few months. I need to support my family.

I hear that and I was just making light.
But you should have no problem.
Put your ducks in a row and just start making calls!
