It's your not truck.
It's the companies. They can tell you to do whatever they want. It's there property.
If you want to carry a gun, buy your own truck.

If your company has a strict policy against having a gun in their truck then I would keep the guns at home or find a carrier who doesn't care if you have a weapon. There are some alternative ways in which to protect yourself without risking your job or freedom.

CMV drivers must follow local laws and their company policies only. There are no Commercial Federal Regulations concerning firearms. Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Subject: Commercial driver carrying a firearm
Had this conversation the other day with a CDL driver, could please tell me where to go to get the actual law on the legality of a driver carrying a firearm in the truck, thanks for your help Sent from my iPad
I know this is a old thread, but wanted to post an email I received from Nevada highway patrol -
If I ever go back over the road my 40 S&W Springfield XD Essential is coming with me. You'd have to be pretty f****** stupid to get caught with it regardless of the laws.

You need permission from the us marshalls and carb before carring gun on truck.

Yup carb, needs to be environment friendly with biodegradable bullets

I carry my gun in my truck with my CHL. Have been stopped several times and showed officer CHL he asked where gun was I told him and had no issues.
As stated if you are OTR many states are not gun friendly.
I have my own truck so no worries about company policies but even if I worked somewhere that had a policy against it I would still carry. I would rather be fired than dead. I have been carrying my gun nearly 15 years and no one has ever "found" it and I keep it well hidden but accessible.
There are a lot of crazy people out there and sleeping in your truck you are a sitting duck if you don't have means to protect yourself.Air Breeze and G/MAN Thank this.
