Caught my carrier photoshopping rate cons and stealing money, what should I do?

    There are a number of issues here, the rate sheet is just one. Recommend you talk to OOIDA, this is right in line for them. They have attorneys that can advise you.

    As soon as I mentioned "what you are telling me about the load was not in writing, I have the rate con right here".
    Customer immediately proceeded print out rate con sent to my carrier, important details were wiped out and rate was changed.

    Broker flat out comfirmed that details were wiped out and rate changed on me.
    He said he will no longer do any business with my carrier after realizing what happened.
    Broker was nice though, he was understanding of my situation and was grateful I still picked up the load and didn't bail once I found out I was getting screwed.
    Broker also told me he'd be more than willing to help if I went the legal route.

    I'm still in shock over all this and very upset.
    I'm an experienced driver with a good record, work hard and my carrier screwing me like this... #### it's difficult.
    I felt horrible customer had to hear all this too.

    There's no words, it's beyond unethical.

    I have to agree that you should not let on that you know anything and get all monies that are owed to you.

    I'm sure that someone can give you a more specific answer, maybe @brian991219, but as far as I know it's actually illegal if you are leased on to them for percentage and they don't give you the correct percentage.

    I also agree with calling ooida. They can probably guide you.

    I do think it is FMCSA that those rules are written under if you are leased onto someone.

    I also wonder this question.

    I'm not sure if this applies to you or if I have the wording exactly correct, but I think any party within a brokered transaction has the right to see that transaction.

    So if the company you have been working for does brokered Freight, Maybe you would be able to request that, to compare against the rate cons that you have.

    Regardless of if you sue them you gotta leave ASAP .....

    I wouldn’t haul another load for them. Say your engine let go or you’ve got emissions problems.....

    Get out of there. Bad bad company. Spend $300.00 to buy a piece of paper that says you are the carrier that way you cut out another middle man. Don’t factor.

    that’s a form of racketeering, you have the proof needed, you can get a lawsuit against them.

    It is a pity that you can't afford just to quit in protest and threaten them with ultimatum of a lawsuit if they don't pay what they stole from you. Now you have to put a good face on a bad game which not always is easy to do.

    Take a vacation ling enough that any pay they owe you you will have.
    Use the time to find another carrier.
    Come up with a settlement figure you can live with.
    Talk to police about a fraud charge.
    Ince you confront them, be ready to move to another carrier, let the cops loose (if that's an option) and or your own law suit.
    If your an OOIDA member, consult them.
    I had a friend who had a carrier doing the same, he took a vacation, did 2 sets of tires on his truck and trailer on the company corporate account, then confronted them.
    He settled, lost his escrow but got 2 sets of tires.

    Here is my guess, pure speculation;
    They dont do this every load or maybe even often , but every time a juicy load comes up, they are there to skim off all the cream. This is really insidious as it keeps those lucky little extra paydays from ever happening for the driver. This really keeps you from getting ahead nearly as fast as you otherwise would and if you skim enough cream you can kill a small business like a one man truck operation.
    I am also going to guess that this is fairly common in smaller companies and OP just got lucky and caught it this time.
    We really put a lot of trust in these carriers to do the right thing with very little recourse if they turn up dirty
