Do you think it is transmitting on its own?
    Do you receive other drivers?

Do you have your inverter on?
Sometimes a truck will pass me and it makes static on my CB, so I turn the squelch up..

You can actually see them turning the volume down? Are you sure they're not just making an adjustment? Maybe turning it up in case you give them a shout?

Ask for a radio check once in a while. Whoever answers should tell you how you sound on his end.

Agreed Wait till you're in a rest area ask for a radio check and then there 20. And please keep your hands on the wheel and eyes on the road while you're passing me. I like my mirrors where they areo_O.

I always do my checks either when I get parked, or if I get stuck in a parking lot on the freeway lol. Depending on your radio and antenna setup determines how far out you can get and how you are sounding to other drivers. It also helps if they are running with a radio and if they even have it on.
