Can someone please find me a copy of the checklist for the nc dmv inspection test that you have to do. Also are mudflaps required to be on the truck that you are using to take the test in. He will be taking it in a 3500 dually dodge ram and we arent sure if the mud flaps need to be on before the test. Please any help will be appreciated.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that you need a truck with air brakes to take the CDL test pretty much anywhere.

They are not required but if you test in a vehicle without air brakes you will have an air brake restriction on your license and not be able to drive anything with air brakes. There are lots of vehicle combinations that require a class a license and don’t have air brakes.

As to the mud flaps the law federally is you need mud flaps behind any dual tires unless there is more tires behind them. So you wouldn’t need mud flaps on the pickup if you you had a trailer. Not sure how NC handles it.
