Hi, I am studying for my general knowledge test. I was curious how accurate the CDL test questions on this website are compared to the questions that will be on the actual test. Will they be worded exactly the same? Thanks for your feedback.

I would assume it depends on the state you're in.
I took few of the practice tests my self and I did terrible because California has a different set of questions. -
Why? Are you hoping to "memorize" them, or do you want to actually absorb the information, and use the knowledge to pass the test?
I haven't seen the practice tests on this site...but I would have to assume that they would at the very least be similar. -
Second, SMD, you did not fail due to a different set of questions, you failed for the reasons I stated above, rather for doing the opposite of what I stated above.
Alaska has a data base of over 500 questions on the test system, so at any given time one will get any randomly selected question from that pool. I am certain that many states use the same data base across the country.
Exact wording, seriously? Learn the information, become knowledgeable. Forget memorizing a question by rote.
Here is another source of practice tests; http://www.cristcdl.com/index.shtml
You do have a study manual from your respective state DMV, yes?
And get one of these;Last edited: Sep 8, 2015
Spreadneck and otherhalftw Thank this. -
A couple years ago when I received my A+ certification (IT industry cert. like MSCE, N+ etc.) I was taking the 2-part test with a guy who tried to pass using "brain dumps" which is where people memorize questions and answers on a given test rather than...you know....studying the material and understanding.
He failed, miserably, due mostly to the fact that he didn't have a basic knowledge of PC's, networking, or operating systems and he was nowhere near the caliber of a person that should've received that kind of certification. That relates to this industry in that you want someone who knows and understands how to do a proper PTI, how to do a brake air pressure loss test, and generally just be capable and knowledgeable of the proper way to handle a 40-ton missile rolling down the highway.
Practice tests are a great resource, but they should be one small part of your overall educational structure, not the only part.pattyj Thanks this. -
TTR practice tests are absolutely on par.

Well fine, I see how it is

I just walked in and wrote the test. Never even cracked a book. Ace'd everything except the questions pertaining to bus regulations. (Seriously who would ever want to drive a school bus?)

Everyone learns differently when I took my test I read the manual from the drivers license office front to back the night and morning before and then went straight to my test and passed all of them
