I have a headache rack on my truck. A whip around is just your pretrip. They only require pictures of your tires, and your brake pads. Let's be honest. A lot of drivers don't do their daily pre trip, or they don't do it properly. COTC does this to ensure that it gets done. Yes, there are driver facing cameras for insurance reasons, but they are only activated in a critical event like impact.
Yes, they do require that you chain down your tarps with a snapbinder and padlock. But I think that's more for overhead cost reasons. Those tarps are very expensive and more and more things are getting stolen off of driver's trucks. They are running a business. Is it inconvenient? Yes. But I also respect it because they are running a business, and they are doing it the right way.

Yeah they don't issue bungees. But they don't ban you from using them either. I personally prefer shop cord, because that is what is issued, and it is much easier for me to work with.

I have heard nothing about that. They pay you based on a very specific route that they plan for you.

Sounds like COTC is a good company to learn how to open deck work. Probably better than TMC or Maverick? I have a dock worker who’s thinking about getting his CDL and is interested in open deck. Do they hire out of North Dakota?
Knucklehead and Lonesome Thank this. -
I believe so, yes.
