Swift alleges that it will be business as usual for central however I will believe that when I see it. Things are going to change and probably not for the good. Except maybe the csa score cause central is starting to ease into the cess pool

    mje Thanks this.

Eventually, the entire transportation industry is going to be owned by a dozen people. Rates will tank (even further,) as will pay. That is if the government doesn't make it impossible to work First.

I don't think pay could tank anymore at Swift. I have a friend who drives on the flatbed side over there. Didn't go through a CDL mill to get his CDL so nobody would take him except Swift. He makes a whopping .26 CPM!!!! Oh and he only gets from what he has told me about 1500-2000 miles a week.... I told him to stick with it for a year and go somewhere else. And people say TMC(my old employer) does not pay good..... 74K in 2012 for this guy... Feel bad for you Swifty's

Then in a year he will think his new job is the greatest thing in the world. When he gets his first check for $500 he will be laughing at SWIFT drivers...

    Perspective.

Most drivers have to go through the CDL mills then do their time for at least a year. If they beat the odds and manage to stay in the business they are just thankful to have a job and a few hundred bucks a week.

SWIFT is destroying every aspect of the industry because the expectations of any driver that started in the last 10 years are very low.

    Perspective.

Truck drivers are happy earning less than minimum wage.

I agree 100% Guntoter and believe me he is not happy just knows he has no choice right now just starting out in trucking. I really bugs me about how many truckers are out there that think taking home 500 bucks a weeks is not bad money.... I get hate when my check is under a grand.

    mje and Guntoter Thank this.

I personally never grossed $500 a week before taxes. Therefore, taking home $500 a week would be like "manna from heaven". Also, I have been in the workforce for 39 years, (since 1974). I will soon turn 57 this year.

There are PLENTY of people in the U.S.A. who are in the same situation, and would be MORE THAN GRATEFUL to take home $500 a week.

The biggest worry is that both the staff and drivers at Central Refrigerated will continue to have their jobs, continue to receive their paychecks, and stay out of the unemployment line altogether. Everything else is secondary.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!
