I remember it was Yellow-Roadway. The others we’re operating with original names. Them they weren’t. Stickers were changed a few times.

Yeah, now all the trucks say yellow on them but you have to look beneath the yellow emblem where it’ll say operated by reddaway or operated by Holland, etc.

TA must be in bad shape. They were posting spotter jobs $32 an hour, locally non-stop on indeed and each time i applied the recruiter stated the job had just been filled and would you be interested in an OTR position?

I was in a few Heartland Terminals and they certainly seem very corporate however they were also very nice and the facilities just worked and were actually cleaned.

Yeah the Heartland terminals are all very nice. Clean, with plenty of room to drop or park (except for the newly remodeled Heartland/Millis terminal in Burleson, TX) and diamond plate everywhere. .I just thought it was odd and inconvenient that most of the shower rooms do not have toilets in them. Guess we can't have it all, right?

I drove for Millis and I can tell you from experience that there's a lot of things that will change, but most of the changes aren't going to be nearly as dramatic as a lot of the drivers let on. My biggest complaint was the changes in truck specs. Pre-Heartland Millis trucks were darn nice to be plastic fleet Kenworths. The Heartland spec'd trucks are still not bad, but not nearly as nice.

Yes, Millis must have been buying the cheapest 2021 Kenworth trim package on those t680's. Not having a table to sit at in your truck seemed silly as does not having a passenger seat 180 so you can recline after hours in that dreadfully uncomfortable drivers seat. I've been in several different newer Macks & Freightliners by now and haven't experienced my ### going numb so quickly yet as that t680 with 115k on it.

As bad as the drivers seat was in the t680, i'd take it anyday over the base level Mack day cab my last job provided. The amount of wind noise whistling inside that cabin at highway speed, heck you might as well roll the windows down like the old timers...

I appreciate my short tenure with Millis, i'm glad i don't own a trucking company. I probably wouldn't be in business long providing my drivers what i consider to be the bare minimum equipment to live in their trucks.

And Millis, fix that right bathroom shower valve/head in Albany. Its like a donkey peeing down your back. Hard to get the stench of ya like that.

Here's the latest of course in these areas Heartland tells CFI just how they expect things, also it's on Social Media drivers leaving quite a bit, some return, many don't return. Anyways here.

    1. No APUs, they're testing a few and of course same ole story, oh their to costly, we can't afford, you know the cry I'm poor game.

    2. CFI started a year or two of having new truck orders with side lights for rear backing illumination, refrigerators, 5th wheel air slide/locks,...that is Now going away with all new truck's Heartland doesn't want to see them in trucks, it's being fought by CFI but bottom line Heartland does own CFI. So another loss of driver comforts. Trucks are going to a more strip down specs. Note if your wanting these their are definitely other companies that readily offer them and have driver comforts in mind, just ask I'll tell you a few.

    3. For you that go back n forth on weather shutdown pay...No they DO NOT pay for weather shutdowns. Years back they use to review these in a case by case basis and at times would offer Extreme weather payouts here and there.

    4. For you that don't know....CFI has No Safety Bonuses, No Fuel Bonuses, No Productivity/Longevity Bonuses....you get the picture ...the only one is a Driver Referral Bonus...who the hell is going to refer a driver to this..lol. It should be noted under the present president watch...previous bonuses went away or south as some would say. Before him there was better. No hate just stating fact.
