Okay cool. I just wanna make sure I don’t have to be concerned with job security if I decide to idle. I appreciate it.

I'm sure I saw at least 80 with a bright full moon, and no traffic so the hi beams stayed on... I wonder how many were in striking distance that I didn't see!!!

We owned land out in brownwood (just north of Brady) and always filled our deer tags. Between deer and hogs, there’s plenty running around at night around those roads.

Can’t I just use one of these Coleman 12v coolers without idling and apu these should still run fine over night and keep things like juice from perishing? If so I’d like to opt for this over a traditional cooler since it seems a fridge is out of the question without an apu.

Good question...on a cool night, I idle for about 15 minutes before bed. Then run the Coleman, bunk heater, radio, and various chargers all night.

Get up, turn on the lights, and as soon as I plug in the coffee pot, I get the alarm that it is going to shed all non essential electrical loads to save batteries for cranking amps...start the truck and recharge everything while making and eating breakfast.... I keep fresh meat, fruit, and veggies in that Coleman... nothing ever spoiled.

Vic Firth, mitrucker and Ultratowel Thank this.

So there is constant 12v that run even with the tuck fully shut down? I’d hope I wouldn’t have to worry about a dead battery when I wake up is all lol.

Or are the inverters constant? I honestly thought all that went off when the truck was off which is why I’m so concerned about apu. But you may have just shed the ray of light that I needed

It’s called battery management, sir. It’s not too hard to figure out. You seem to be a pretty bright, inquisitive type. You’ll be fine.

RoadRooster and Vic Firth Thank this.

Do they struggle finding you loads in and out of Florida? Seems like dry van in particular is difficult to get loads back out.
