Rooster, I realize the following questions will be based on many determining factors, but how many monthly miles can a new solo driver expect at CFI, if they are - at the minimum - fairly competent in managing their time and has a least some common sense? In other words, I'm not lazy nor am I as dumb as a box of rocks. New drivers will have issues due to their inexperience. Besides lack of freight, what would be the other determining factors. Are new drivers assigned to a "beginners" fleet manager who is specifically trained to manage new drivers?

Which Rand model is best/most accurate. I have heard the new GPS/tablet is terrible in regards to reliability.

That I can’t answer as I’m still running my old TND510.

Try contacting @Mark Kling as he is the go to guy for anything Rand McNally around here.

You should work your way up from beginner to 10000 mile per month.

Weather will impact that, how often you go home, and mechanical issues also impact.

A good manager makes a difference too. Get on your manager's good side and stay there.

I have heard there is a manager just for newbies. Her name escapes me, but she is good. Former driver, a little gruff, but reasonable and fair...

I gotta sleep...if you have other questions, I will get to them later.

    doninwooster and mitrucker Thank this.

Around 2500 is a safe number. I’d say from all the questions I’ve asked, but cfi seems to have too many loads as opposed to drivers so they keep turning down loads. So as long as you want to run you’ll get the miles you want.

I’m still in orientation from the company. But these are questions and answers I’ve already asked and received. Definitely choose cfi over swift in my oppinion. Swift is about as cancer as Werner seems to be from how I see everyone talk about them.
