CFI Driver's What's Your 20? (2017 edition)

Sounds about like our convo on calexico! Got a trailer from the calexico yard and we drove to Walmart to do some shopping. Well somewhere along the line (I'm assuming the crappy drop yard) we picked up a screw in the trailer tandem. So we called road service and ops.and they tell us to go back to the yard and get a new one, and road service called out the loves road crew to patch/replace the tire. Well we get to the yard drop the trailer with the flat tire. Ops.gives us a list of trailers that are empty at the lot. We find them..there are 3. The first was a 27XXX trailer so off the bat you know it's gonna be out of shape. Missing 3 tail lights and no crank handle.the next one was a 32XXX little better shape, missing one light (I'm thinking no biggie with ops permission I'll rip.on off the other trailer if it'll fit. Walk down the other side has a huge 10ft long gash down the side of it. Big enough you can see the floor of the trailer from the outside haha. At this point I'm like surely the third will work. Nope. missing tail lights as well and has a rejection number and letter on it from Mexico said something about broken welfs I think? Idk my Spanish is a little weak.

All of this went down over the course of an hour an a half. And ops proceeds to tell us to take the best out of the three. Luckily about that time the loves crew rolled up and replaced the tire. All that work for nothing..if they would of just let us stay at Wally world and wait for the loves crew we would of been good to go in a few hours. And all of this was because they wanted us to do a favor for them. A favor that I sacrificed sleep for lol was running on about 4hrs at that point. Had they let me stay at Walmart I could've napped another 3hrs and been at 7 accumulative hours of sleep.

Haha anyway! As y'all can tell I'm still salty af about it lmao

lol yup I hope we don't run into that crap but we are expecting anything and everything after reading this page and fb group page taking a lot of notes lol

 

send a macro to road service for the 3 trailers that need service and they get repaired. We use a service about 2 miles from the drop yard.

 

Ops can feed whoever they want. Who do they feed and why?

 

Relay in Birmingham tomorrow for a short 100 mile load then another load to Pennsylvania. Should catch me up for the week back up to about 2500 at least. Thank god.

 

Rooster can't crow in Branson! Stomach virus, been in Joplin hotel for 2 days... just barely better now, no practice time... didn't want to spend 2 hours in a van with ABS. btw, IBS is irritable bowel syndrome...in my situation, the A stands for downright ANGRY.

Stopped in Oak Grove, Pa for the night! Headed down to Newport News, Virginia to get loaded and taking it to some town with a stupid name in Wisconsin. Had some pretty great food at a place called "The Diner" here in Oak Grove next to the pilot. Was $23+tip for a chicken fry with two sides and a salad. And wife had jack Daniels chicken, 2 sides and a salad. And polished it off with coconut creme pie and Oreo cheesecake. This dog had to waddle back to the truck haha! Also apparently northerners make this stuff called potato filling, oh my Lord. I had no idea what I was missing. It's like thanksgiving in every bite. I'm in love. Shh don't tell the wife.
