After having the truck serviced at Petro, I went over to the Pilot for fuel and a shower. Sign on the door say showers out of order. I go in to use the restroom...and that familiar recorded voice comes on the loud speaker...."Attention professional drivers...we currently have no wait for a shower ..."
Now that is the definition of irony.mitrucker Thanks this. -

I forgot to tell everyone. Everything has been so hectic in our home. My father-in-law had to move in with us. He has Alzheimer's Disease Dementia really bad. He doesn't want to go into a nursing home. He doesn't want to be seen by a doctor. He has classic signs of someone with Alzheimer's Disease Dementia. His face is drooped. He staggers when he walks. He's 82 years old. He's a Korean War Veteran. My Mother-in-law passed away a long time ago, so I know he doesn't have her around to take care of him, and don't want him by himself. I am not worried about getting paid for keeping him up. I could careless about that in all honesty. I just want him to where we can keep him a close eye on him, if he takes a big turn for the worse, and emergency personnel can get to him faster him than where he lives. Besides, he was just renting out there. My home is paid for. He is a wonderful father-in-law a son-in-law could ever ask for in someone. I am only doing what's right here. I remember my wife came up to me, and she said, "We need to talk". I first thought and asked her nicely, "Okay, what have I done now"? She replied, "No, sweetheart, you haven't done anything wrong at all. Actually, you done everything right. It's about daddy". She began to explain to me what was going on and everything. We had a big discussion about it. Just the two of us. We decided to bring him here to be closer in case something happens. Plus, my sister-in-law is on her death bed. We have a big enough place here. He was renting way out in the middle of nowhere. Yeah, my wife was running back and forth taking care of him. It putting a lot of miles on her vehicle. His siblings wasn't coming to see him at all or calling him, or nothing. We felt like this was best for him. My wife is the only child. She's the one taking care of him, and nobody else is doing that. I thought, "Why not"? I don't think any judge in the State is gonna argue with that at all, and finding out we are only doing this to take care of him, and not really looking for any monetary gains out of this at all. Just trying to be good people. Especially since it's his daughter that's taking care of him, and still seeing we're doing this out of the goodness out of hearts. If anything, a judge would say, "I commend you all on your efforts on taking care of this very sick man, and not seeking monetary gains". Because you know how some family members get when it's time to settle the estate. I already told my wife, "I don't want nothing from this great man. Just knowing this great man was a privilege in itself. I will cherish forever". My wife hugged me and said, "I love you, and that's why I married you for all these years. I knew you didn't want me for materialistic things, because my father had stuff that didn't interest the most. It was the companionship you two shared. Daddy talked about you two a lot when you were deployed. Daddy said to me while you were deployed, "You got a good man, I just know it in my heart". My wife went on to say to me, "I never told you that until now, but daddy thinks very highly of you. He know without a shadow of a doubt you are a good man. He didn't want me to tell you, but act like it you don't know, because I wasn't supposed to tell you, but I am not going to keep something from my husband that's so sentimental. That, I have been married for many years either".
