I've been to Petros on holidays where you couldn't get near the buffet cuz it was the best place in town and all the locals were there for the special meal. Pearsal must have so much fine dining that the buffet went out of business and was replaced by a Burger King... how's that for sarcasm?
paul_4lp, hollywood76, subseaguru and 1 other person Thank this. -

You know, buddy, I guess, it's the modesty in me, I don't let it go to my head, I am just being me. I don't have to do the pretending game. I just do what I normally do. I just go through life helping people. It just breaks my heart to see him in this shape. Not because he's my father-in-law, but a good man overall, it doesn't bother nobody, when we wasn't sick, he was actively involved in his community, he went to church. A very good Christian man. I mean they still exist in the world, but they're far and wide. Sitting down having a conversation with this man. You gain something from this great man. If you ever serve your country. He will definitely open up and talk to you. He told me things. He couldn't even tell his own daughter, and apparently, I made a difference in his life only because, I served my country, and at that time, I continue to serve my country, and it was the camaraderie that we shared with one another, and he felt comfortable about opening up of things that he never told anyone else. The only thing, I did was shared my experience with him on what I went through, and that's all it took. I remember when we had our daughter, he told me, "Will you let me know how my daughter is doing. She's all I got". I could tell. He was worried about my wife. I responded, "Sir, you will be the first person, I will contact on how my wife is doing, and how your granddaughter is doing". To give him some reassurance. After my wife got out of the hospital, and after we went home for a few days. We went to see him. He looked at me. Eye to eye. Face to face. Man to man. He shook my hand. He said, "You're definitely a man of your word, and I appreciate that". I started noticing some signs then of Alzheimer's Disease, because I have been married to his daughter for quite a long time. I still acknowledged him as sir anyways I always have been, and still do. I didn't think nothing about it then it being Alzheimer's Disease. Our daughter is almost 4 years old now will be next month. It just goes to show you how deadly this disease gets. My wife says he used to holler in pain at night, but he doesn't do that anymore. He's passed that stage now. He has progressed. It's tough talking about it. I am not sure if you all have heard of the Kentucky Headhunters. My father-in-law used to do Carpenter work for them. My father-in-law is well known and a very respected man. The community will lose a great man, and Heaven will gain a wonderful person. I can say that enough.hollywood76 Thanks this. -
