CFI is not as good a company as they think they are.

The way I was taught I dont run thru city's or towns at the speed limit to start with, I generally run about 5 mph slower, why because I can't stop on a dime, so there fore it is not safe for me to run the same speed as the vehicles that the lights are calibrated for, also as you approach an old green you should be already slowing preparing for the light to turn. Any how I had earlier stated that your not going to be abe to stop always, there will be some that you have to go thru, thats not the point, the point is to try and prepare for the stop when you can see it coming. Its called defensive driving. Why some of us have 2 million plus miles without running someone over, just maybe. Be Safe and God Bless.

Your right, yellow caution, slowdown prepare to stop.

Be advised that SmartDrive will ping drivers for running through yellow lights and call it a “level 3 event”. All the TFI companies have switched to using SmartDrive; unfortunately not all their safety officers possess much common sense.

If you have a smart drive tractor you have to revert back to the old rules, slow down, anticipate, be ready. The way my ol'man taught me in town is what if that was a kid, you can't stop your traveling to fast. Truckdrivers now forget the speed limits in town are set for auto's not 18 wheelers. I was taught the basic rule in town was a minimum of 5 mph below the posted, watch for stale green's, etc. anyway deadhorse I guess...

I currently work for CFI, started out of school back at the beginning of the year. Yes, smartdrive can be a pain, but we were taught to prepare for stale greens and such. Yellow lights are going to happen, but it is what it is, sometimes it drops on you after the point of no return.

As far as a company, I have had no major issues, or unresolvable issues. I have been treated great, my FM is great, nights and weekends dispatch needs improvement though.

Hi, text me on who you went with, and glad you found better and are happier. I been at CFI OTR for a while and IMO they haven't gotten better. Anti APU, no Fridge/freezer, a few others.

I looked at GG Transco, but I cringe when I see they are based out of Chicagoland…

Yeah, I know what your saying, been here many years to, I'm still here. But they have as I'm sure you know made changes, and to me they really have no bonuses left, they've done away with a safety bonus, a productivity bonus, etc that was used like 3 or so years ago gave you like 1500 to 3500 bucks a year more than the recent one that was a disaster that they've gotten rid of, no fuel bonus, so I came right out and asked them really what bonuses do you have left.. Their answer was well we have the Million Miles Bonus.. I laughed and said I've already gotten that n really that's a milestone type of thing... I see it this way... President here is big on mgmnt he comes from a Walmart logistics background, to me a Lotta money goes in mgmnt do you need good mgmt for especially this size company yeah but they need to know the drivers are the ones really bringing the bulk of the money into the company... And yes I agree with you as you stated leaving 2021 n yes you'll make more if you search out a few other companies especially in this hot market...so what they did is deleted bonuses and gave a 3 cent raise and tell drivers it's a great thing and than they turned around at the same time and deleted Northeast Pay which was 5 cents more when your running the Northeast... that's all joke.. and yes they've lost drivers over that alone... I been looking myself.

thats pretty ####ty of them. ill ask a buddy who is still leased to cfi if they have taken that away from owner operators also. i know he's been complaining lately about how most of fm's in the ic fleet dont really want to work with the drivers anymore. i guess they are becoming a mega.
