Going to a church and claiming you're a Christian is like going into a garage and calling yourself a car....not so, sport fans!:biggrin_25513:

Right, i guess my being a noob is showing. In that...with SNI, my account has been planned out thoroughly. Heck, its planned so that my last stop is something like 4:30 pm and on that plan if I finished and deadheaded home, Id be legal still. Even so...I consider myself to be behind schedule if Im there past 1! On my route, I drive (line 3) 8 hours a day on average. What Im saying is that...when I think of a dedicated account Im thinking of what I do...the same stops, every day. Maybe some other companies version of dedicated means different stops. Its just that, in my case, my company has researched exactly how long it will take to get from Point A, making stops along the way to Point F, and Back to A, at an average of 50mph.

And that would be the hallmark of a smooth running account (and driving job). It's nice that your experience is that good, although it could spoil you if you decide to change jobs!

Like I said previously, I talked to many ded. drivers at Covenant, and the only happy ones were on a walmart ded. They got $150/day, and they would run like hell and burn up all their hours in 5 days, so they could sit for a reset (usu at home, how convienient!) and yet get paid for 7 days of work.

    wallbanger,

I am trying to understand your post. You said they get $150.00 per day, burn up their hours in five days and get paid for 7 days? That comes out to $750.00 per week for five days. Does that mean that if they burn up their hours (I assume 70) they are paid at $10.71 per hour, or do you mean that they are paid $150.00 for seven days ($1050.00) and squeeze those deliveries into five days? Just looking for some clarification.

    Drive safe

It was the second scenario: where they would do as much in 5 days as they could, so their 70 was used up. They would then do a 34 hr reset and get back on the road, yet somehow they were getting paid for seven days of work. I never quite got that explained to my satisfaction, but several WM ded. drivers told me the same story. Go figure.

I am a born again Christian, that said here is my rant. When I see the little fish symbol on a companies business card, I RUN AWAY FAST AS I CAN. Too many so called Christians think that just because they are forgiven, they also have the right to screw you in the name of God. Too many do not practice business as they should. Some of them think that because they have a relationship with God, it's ok to be a schyster. I have worked for a few Christian owned companies that did not advertise that they were Christian owned. But you could tell they were REAL Christians because of their exemplary high standards and good conduct in all of their business dealings.
So my point is, if they have to tell you they are Christian owned to entice you into working for them, they probably are not the real deal. You should find out they are Christian owned, by accident, and their manners and honesty can not be hid. They will not have to blow their own horn, it will come out on it's own.

I was suspicious of this line of crapola from day 1. To use Covenant as an example, I think the only reason they plaster that mess all over their trucks is to fool unsuspecting rookies into thinking that dog of a company is actually a decent place to work.

Stallion, I lived in Utah for about 8 years, so I know where you're coming from. I don't know which way you go, but I pretty much turned into a mormon hater in my time there. I don't hate the people overall, just the religion itself. No religion I've encountered emphasizes a love of money as much as LDS, Incorporated. Yeah, believe it, folks. Mormonism is a corporation, and its god is that one made of tin, copper, and dollar bills.

well i must admit i,m a christian but sometimes i get caught up in the things of this world. sometimes in can be a struggle to live right.

i also have come across these christian companies and thought cool this would be a good place to work. only to find out their no different.

in the bible the LORD gives us commandments to live by and one is -- obey the laws of the land -- seems simple to me, log your books like the law says. if you cant because of the company find a new job.

if you attempt to live for HIM he will take care of you just my $1.50

    THE ROOKIE Thanks this.
